Juanda Shoves Into Kempe; Ivey Wins a Small Pot

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

On the three-way turn of {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Rainer Kempe bet 1,700 in the big blind and John Juanda called, Marcus Yi Lim folded. The {6-Hearts} fell on the river and Kempe now checked. Juanda moved all in and Kempe didn't ask for a count before folding.

One hand later, Yi Lim opened to 1,000 and Kempe called in the small blind, as did Phil Ivey in the big blind. The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Ivey's bet worth 800 won the pot. "You can rebuy," another player at the table joked to Ivey. "Yeah I know, once," Ivey replied as he remains with a short stack.

Yu Takes from Badziakouski

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

The atmosphere at the table varies between no table talk, plenty of emotions by Mustapha Kanit, some small talk and the raffling of chips. Winfred Yu joked earlier that he would use "Facebook live" from his phone when he got all the chips and just did the first step at improving his stack.

Yu three-bet to 2,500 on the button and Mikita Badziakouski four-bet to 7,000 from one seat over in the small blind. The action folded back to Yu and he announced all in for just over 50,000. Badziakouski had less than that and checked his cards several times, shook his head and elected to fold.

Updated Counts

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Sun Sheng was the first casualty of the day after losing his remaining stack to Marius Torbergsen, and the player from Shanghai has not opted to re-enter thus far. Timofey Kuznetsov may have to do so soon, as he is down to less than a third of the starting stack and was just spotted chatting with Mustapha Kanit when not being involved in a hand.

Kenney Enters - First Break

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Bryn Kenney, who finished runner-up to Wai Kin Yong back in November, just showed up after having arrived a few hours ago. Kenney took his seat, but even before he could get some cards the level came to an end. As a result, the players were sent into their first 10-minute break of the day and headed to the buffet outside of the tournament area.

"I Gonna bust Sergio Aido"

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Mustapha Kanit has been very vocal and joking while not being involved in a hand, and joked "I gonna bust ... " looked around the room and finished with "I gonna bust Sergio Aido." For this to happen, Kanit or Aido would have to move tables.

Kanit got just back in time to see Erik Seidel scoop a small pot with {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} against Wai Kin Yong on a board of {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Seidel had check-called a bet of 700 on the flop before turn and river were checked through.

Then, Kanit himself won a pot against Yong, but the Italian hasn't moved much yet from the start.

Torbergsen Takes from Sheng

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

A raising war broke out between Sun Sheng and Marius Torbergsen. The action had started with a raise by Mikita Badziakouski, who quickly got out of the way when the fireworks started. Torbergsen three-bet to 2,100 and Sheng then four-bet to 6,300 in the big blind. Torbergsen five-bet to 14,400 and Sheng called.

On the {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Sheng checked and Torbergsen's bet worth 8,500 scooped the pot.

Soon after, Sheng squeezed to 5,200 and Torbergsen then moved all in to force yet another fold.

Up to 31 Entries

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The first break has not been reached yet, and the field has grown to 31 players in total. Jack Salter had not bought in early as previously reported, but walked around the tournament area for quite some time before jumping into the competition.

Wai Kin Yong has also joined the field recently as well. The son of Richard Yong won the Triton Super High Roller Series HK$500,000 Main Event last November and is looking for another big score here in Manila.

Lim and Liang Take from Ivey

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Marcus Yi Lim

Plenty of chips were in the pot with the board reading {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Phil Ivey faced a bet worth 9,000 by Yu Liang. The latter was called and rolled over {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for a full house to scoop a decent pot.

One hand later, Liang opened to 700 and John Juanda three-bet to 2,100 in order to force folds all around.

Then, three players saw the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Ivey bet 800. Only Marcus Yi Lim called and Ivey checked the {J-Clubs} turn, Lim checked behind. After the {10-Hearts} river, Ivey checked and called a bet worth 4,500 by Lim only to muck when shown {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a busted flush draw that improved to two pair.

Those two pots took a toll on Ivey's stack and he dropped to half of what he staretd with.

Small Pots for Aldemir

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Koray Aldemir min-bet the flop of {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and David Peters called out of the big blind to then see both players check the {7-Hearts} on the turn. Aldemir also checked the {J-Clubs} river and Peters made it 600 to go, picking up a call. Peters turned over {Q-Spades}{2-Spades} for a bluff, and Aldemir won the pot with {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Soon after, Aldemir bet the {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop for 775 and Peter Chen called. The {5-Spades} fell on the turn and Chen checked, Aldemir made it 2,700 to go and that won the pot without any further resistance.
