Leow Gets a Full Double With Aces

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

Ivan Leow picked up {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} under the gun and he raised to 50,000. Phil Ivey defended {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} on the button and flopped open-ended straight draw on {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, the aces weren't live.

Leow continued for 65,000 and Ivey jammed for 518,000 effective. Leow was ready to go.

Ivey caught two extra outs on the {9-Diamonds} turn but the {K-Diamonds} river was safe for Leow who doubled just before a 10-minute break.

Kee Pulls Off a Huge Bluff Against Leow

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

With the action picked up on the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{A-Hearts} turn with 432,000 in the pot, Kenneth Kee checked with {10-Spades}{9-Spades} in the hijack and Ivan Leow fired 115,000 with {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} on the button. Kee called and missed his outs on the {K-Diamonds} river.

He burned a timebank and then turned his hand into a bluff, firing a large bet of 350,000. Leow had just 440,000 in front of him and tanked for almost two minutes. Then he decided to fold his hand and Kee's big bluff got through.

Dwan Eclipses 2 Million

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante
Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

After limps from Wai Kin Yong and Paul Phua, Tom Dwan raised to 75,000 on the button. Both Yong and Phua called.

The flop was {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and action checked to Dwan who put out a bet of 200,000. Yong called but Phua folded.

The turn was the {J-Spades} and both players checked. They checked a gain on the {6-Diamonds} river. Yong showed his {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Dwan let out a sigh of relief, then showed his {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a better pair. It would earn him the pot and move him over 2 million chips.

Dwan Doesn't Let Go

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

Tom Dwan limped in, as did Peter Jetten. Andrew Robl followed suit and Wai Kin Yong checked his option.

The flop was {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Dwan led out with a bet of 35,000. Jetten folded and Robl decided to raise, making it 100,000. Yong folded but Dwan called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Dwan checked again. Robl put out a bet of 175,000 and Dwan called.

On the {A-Hearts} river, Dwan checked again. Robl thought for some time, using one time extension, then checked it back. Dwan revealed his {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and it was good for him to take down the pot. Robl just shook his head as the pot was pushed Dwan's way.

Lamb Exits

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

Cary Katz limped under the gun with {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Romain Arnaud overlimped with {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Xuan Tan then made it 80,000 in the hijack and Ben Lamb figured out that there would be a lot of dead money in the pot so he jammed for 139,000. Only Tan called.

Tan: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Lamb: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Lamb picked up a flush draw on {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Hearts} but he couldn't catch any of his five outs as the {K-Hearts} and {10-Diamonds} completed the board. Lamb was eliminated in 14th place while Tan moved to 2.1 million in chips.

Katz Prevails After Flopping Nut Straight

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

In a five-way limped pot, Ben Lamb flopped top two pair on the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and he fired 60,000 in the hijack. Cary Katz, however, had the nuts and jammed for 371,000. Lamb made the call and was about a 2-1 dog.

Lamb: {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Katz: {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The {Q-Hearts} turn brought some additional outs for Lamb but he bricked them all on the {7-Clubs} river and Katz doubled to 802,000.

Phua Calls Down Robl

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

Paul Phau limped in and Andrew Robl followed suit before Wai Kin Yong checked on the button.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Phua led out with a bet of 50,000. This attracted a call from Robl while Yong folded.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Phua slowed down with a check. Robl put out a bet of 100,000. Phua called.

On the {6-Diamonds} river, Phua checked. Robl thought for a while then checked behind. Phua showed his {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and his two pair would earn him the pot.

Yong and Katz Chop It Up

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

Romain Arnaud limped with pocket eights and Richard Yong peeled ace-queen suited in the hijack. He jammed for 348,000 and Cary Katz reshoved for 371,000, holding a dominating hand.

Yong: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Katz: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Katz didn't like the {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop but was able to recover at least enough to claim a half of the pot as the {6-Diamonds} turn and {8-Hearts} river gave both players a nine-high straight.

Leow Doesn't Believe Ivey

Level 9 : 0/0, 8,000 ante

Phil Ivey limped under the gun with {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Ivan Leow made it 60,000 with {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} in the hijack. Ivey called and flopped better on {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. They both checked and Ivey hit a boat on {J-Diamonds}. He led out 75,000 and Leow called.

The {K-Spades} fell on the river and Ivey fired 150,000. Leow tried to pick him off, calling but Ivey showed the full house and vaulted to 1.9 million in chips.
