Sam Greenwood Turns Nut Straight

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Richard Yong opened to 40,000 from early position and Sam Greenwood peeled {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} in the small blind. He called and Steve O'Dwyer joined from the big, holding {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The dealer rolled out a flop of {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} and they checked it to the {Q-Hearts} turn where Greenwood hit the nut straight. He led out 75,000 and O'Dwyer called. Yong used a time extension and then called as well.

The {A-Hearts} river brought a 225,000-bet from Greenwood and O'Dwyer took over a minute before he laid his hand down. Yong followed suit and sent his cards towards the muck.

Chan Gets There

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Bryn Kenney made it 35,000 with pocket fours in the third position and David Peters flatted with sevens in the hijack. Chan Wai Leong overcalled, holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and they went three-way to the {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop where Kenney fired 35,000 again. Both Peters and Chan stuck around for the {9-Diamonds} turn.

All players checked and Chan spiked the winning hand on the {Q-Clubs} river. Kenney, however, stabbed for 113,000. He forced a fold from Peters but Chan picked him off and increased his big stack.

Robl Eliminated by Greenwood

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Andrew Robl
Andrew Robl

Andrew Robl appeared to be all in before the flop for 184,000 and he had been called by Luc Greenwood with a covering stack.

Andrew Robl: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}
Luc Greenwood: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and that put a real possibility of a chop on the board but the turn was the {8-Spades} and the river was the {2-Hearts} meaning that with his ace-ten kicker, Greenwood would take down the pot and eliminate Robl from the tournament.

Peters Soars After Hitting a Flush

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ivan Leow opened to 35,000 with {A-Clubs}{4-Spades} in the third position and David Peters defended his big with {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Peters checked the {8-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and Leow bet 41,000. Peters check-raised to 145,000 and Leow called to see the {7-Hearts} turn.

Peters' flush draw filled up but the action was checked so he fired 150,000 on the {Q-Spades} river. Leow matched the price to see Peters roll over the best hand.
