Ivey Makes the Right Call to Take From Juanda

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Picking up action on the turn with roughly 10,000 already in the pot, Phil Ivey was first to act. The board was {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Ivey put out a bet of 5,000. Juanda thought for a bit then called.

On the {J-Hearts} river, Ivey slowed down with a check. Juanda dropped into the tank, thinking through one time extension before he decided to put out a bet of 18,5000. Ivey then dropped into the tank, think through a time bank of his own before he decided to call.

Juanda sheepishly turn up his {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a bluff, but Ivey was holding {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines, and that allowed him to take down the pot to chip up over 80,000.

Peters Stacks Gruissem To Slim the Field

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

Philipp Gruissem was seen sitting at the table without any chips in front of him and he gave up his time bank chips to the dealer as well. David Peters was across the table taking in a massive pot and he was kind enough to relay the information of the hand.

Peters said that he opened on the button with a raise and Gruissem three-bet from the small blind. Peters called.

The flop was {Q-}{9-}{7-} and Gruissem led out for 4,000. Peters called.

The turn was an {8-} and Gruissem led out again, putting forward a bet of 8,500 and Peters called again.

On the {4-} river, Gruissem checked. Peters moved all in with the covering stack for about 30,000 effective. Gruissem tanked then called holding {A-}{Q-} but Peters had him beat with {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for two pair. That allowed him to take down the pot and sent Gruissem to the rail as the first player eliminated.

Chen Spikes the River to Take From Jetten

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Mikita Badziakouski opened with a raise to 600 and James Chen called in the small blind. Peter Jetten was in the big blind and he three-bet, making it 3,000. Badziakouski folded while Chen called.

The flop was {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Chen checked. Jetten put out a bet of 3,400 and Chen called.

Both players checked on the {9-Diamonds} turn and the {4-Hearts} came on the river. There, Chen put out a bet of 6,300 and Jetten called before his timebank expired. Chen showed down his {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a flopped set and that would allow him to take down the pot when Jetten mucked.

Badziakouski Raises the River to Take One Down

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

There was roughly 9,000 in the pot on a board of {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts} and James Chen was first to act. He put out a bet of 4,400 and action was over to Mikita Badziakouski on the button.

Badziakouski thought for a bit before putting in a raise to 12,000. Chen tanked for a while moving past his thirty-second time bank. Before his minute was up he decided to fold giving up one of his time bank chips in the process so Badziakouski raked in the pot.
