Ivey Takes a Nice Pot

Level 17 : 0/0, 50,000 ante

Phil Ivey bet the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop for 150,000 with {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Dan Cates called with the {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Both checked the {K-Clubs} turn while Ivey then bet the {10-Hearts} river for 550,000. Cates gave it some thought and called, then mucked when he got shown the nuts by Ivey.

In a limped pot to the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop, Ivey checked with {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Cates did so with the {10-Spades}{9-Clubs} for middle pair and a gutshot. The {7-Clubs} turn was checked, while Cates bet the {J-Clubs} river for 125,000. Ivey called and dropped some of his profit.

Gabe Patgorski

Dan Cates raised it up to 450,000 and Gabe Patgorski moved all in, Cates snap-called. "Bad beat incoming," Patgorski predicted after the duo had tabled their cards.

Cates and Patgorski Clash in Bigger Pot

Level 17 : 0/0, 50,000 ante
Dan Cates - Gabe Patgorski
Dan Cates - Gabe Patgorski

In a three-way limped pot to the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, Gabe Patgorski made it 150,000 to go with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Phil Ivey called with the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Dan Cates raised it up to 900,000 and Patgorski called, Ivey folded. "What do you want to see Jungleman?" Patgorski asked, but Cates didn't give away any reaction.

The {J-Hearts} turn sent Cates into the think tank before he made it 1,375,000 to go. Patgorski took an equally long time before folding, and then teased "Jungleman" about a juicy seat at the cash game tables.

Chop It Up

Level 17 : 0/0, 50,000 ante

Gabe Patgorski raised to 400,000 with {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Phil Ivey called with the {A-Spades}{j-Spades}. The {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop went check, check, and Patgorski bet the {K-Diamonds} turn for 550,000. Ivey called and the pot grew up to 2 million.

The {10-Diamonds} river triggered a bet of 650,000 by Patgorski and Ivey raised to 1,300,000. Patgorski moved all in and Ivey called. Since both players had the nuts, they were obligated to raise in order to not pick up a penalty, which Patgorski clarified with the floor staff.
