The opening stages of the $100,000 buy-in Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju II Main Event attracted a who's who of poker talent. From grizzled high-stakes legends such as Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius to the younger brigade of poker's latest stars, including Justin Saliba and Mikita Badziakouski, a total of 198 entrants made their way to LES A Casino to take their shot at Triton glory. Of those, just 12 remain, all chasing the title, trophy and $4,145,000 first prize.
Bernhard Binder leads the way with 8,325,000 in chips, putting the Austrian in pole position to claim another Triton title in Jeju. Binder already won the $125K NLH 7-Handed at the first Triton Jeju series earlier this year for $2,137,953, and will be looking to carry that momentum into his first Main Event title.
Just behind Binder is Danny Tang, who returns with 6,025,000 in chips and a chance to accomplish something only Badziakouski has done before — win consecutive Triton Main Event titles. Tang won the most recent $100,000 Main Event in Montenegro, and now sits within striking distance of another championship.
Yang Xu rounds out the top three with 5,225,000 in chips, while Danilo Velasevic is close behind on 5,175,000. Velasevic started Day 2 as the chip leader and spent much of the day near the top of the counts before Binder took control late in the session.

There is no shortage of experience among the remaining contenders. Fan favorite and Poker Hall of Famer Nick Schulman sits sixth with 4,075,000 in chips, while Isaac Haxton has 2,575,000. Haxton has already recorded his 78th Triton cash in this event and is now within reach of a 35th Triton final table.
The 196-entry field generated a $19,600,000 prize pool, with all 12 remaining players guaranteed at least $320,000. But the numbers get considerably bigger from here, with the top fives set to earn a seven-figure payday and $4,145,000 reserved for the eventual champion.
