Simao Doubles Through Boivin, Who Then Hits a Miracle
Miroslav Atanasov opened to 175,000 from the hijack with 9♦8♦ and was three-bet to 1,400,000 by Thomas Boivin in the cutoff. Joao Simao then moved all in for 1,915,000 on the button, which got a fold from Atanasov, but a call from Boivin, who held a slightly bigger stack than Simao.

It was the worst-possible matchup for Boivin, and the K♣2♥8♠5♠J♣ runout bricked out — awarding Simao a massive double-up and leaving Boivin with just 15,000.
On the very next hand, Boivin committed his final chips into the middle from the hijack with 8♥7♦. Nick Petrangelo called in the small blind with A♥3♦ and Atanasov checked his option in the big blind holding 4♠2♣.
Petrangelo check-called an 80,000 bet from Atanasov on the 4♣2♠K♥ flop, but check-folded after Atanasov barreled for 160,000 on the 6♦ turn.
Boivin was drawing to a five only, and sure enough, the 5♦ appeared on the river — filling Boivin's straight draw to keep his run alive.
