2026 Triton Poker Series Jeju II
The hand that cost Phil Ivey big-time on Day 1 of today's $15k NLH 8-Handed came against none other than reigning Triton POY Artur Martirosian.
Martirosian raised to 5,500 from middle position with J♦10♦, and Ivey in the big blind came along for the ride after looking down at 3♥3♦.
The K♣9♣4♥ flop missed both players and Martirosian bet 5,000. Ivey responded with a raise to 15,000, and Martirosian made the call.
The 10♦ turn did give the Russian a better pair, and after Ivey put 35,000 into the middle, Martirosian replied with a call once again.
The 2♠ river card changed nothing, and after Ivey bet for 100,000, Martirosian called for his remaining 85,000 and tournament life, securing a big double.

It's always a buzz when Phil Ivey enters a cardroom, even at a Triton where there are Hall of Famers everywhere you look, and Day 1 of the $15K NLH 8-Handed has been no exception this afternoon.
Ivey has become a regular fixture at Triton's since his first appearance in the Philippines in 2016, with five titles to his name and 46 cashes, good for top 10 and top 15 standings in both categories all-time.
Sporting a fashionable 'Estonia' cap, he's currently trying to spin up his stack in this one with 55,000 (22 BBs), but it's still early days with late reg open until Level 10.
Nevan Chang raised to 4,500 from the cutoff with 7♥5♥ and only Li Yiming came along for the ride, calling in the big blind with K♥Q♣.
The flop of 6♥8♥9♥ was beautiful for Chang, delivering him the straight flush while giving Yiming plenty of reason to stick around with a draw to the second nut flush.
Yiming checked and Chang opted to slow-play his monster by checking back. It worked as the 2♥ turn gave Yiming his flush, and the Chinese player checked before Chang fired a bet of 6,500. Yiming called.
The 6♠ river was an irrelevance, and after Yiming led for 9,000, Chang made a massive overbet to 66,000. Yiming called instantly and allowed himself a wry smile after seeing the bad news he'd been successfully trapped.
There's a fantastic atmosphere here on the floor of the $15k NLH 8-Handed with players getting the chance to catch up after a busy summer of poker, but some will be happier with their start than others.
German crusher Sirzat Hissou currently heads the chip counts with a stack of 438,000 holding a decent lead over Thailand's Suparek Totsaponvisad with 362,000. Meanwhile, Alejandro Lococo, fresh off his recent exploits in the cash streets has made the transition to tournament play very nicely, rounding off the podium positions in today's early stages.
With the clock just about to tick over to Level 4, a prize pool of $1.1 million has already been built by the field with 72 entries.
With the $15K NLH 8-Handed now underway, we've got an idea of some of the faces we'll be seeing here at the Les A Casino over the next couple of weeks...
Poker endboss and reigning Ivan Leow Player of the Year Artur Martirosian is here.
Sam Greenwood, who wrote on X he was "thrilled to return to Triton" after a year off, is back and firing.
Triton Poker ambassador and six-time Triton champion Danny Tang is in the house.
And, last but certainly not least, the current frontrunner for this year's Ivan Leow Player of the Year trophy, the King of Montenegro Daniel Dvoress is in Jeju.
And just like that, cards are in the air on stream and the very first event of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju II is underway!

Omne trium perfectum - everything that comes in threes is perfect.
For Daniel Dvoress, three was the magic number throughout his trip to the sunshine coast of Montenegro back in May.
After already completing a remarkable Triton Poker trifecta earlier in the series by winning titles in No-Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha, and Short Deck, the Canadian superstar went one better by adding another 'three' to the collection: three titles at the same Triton Poker Super High Roller festival.
