Last year, the two Canadaians got heads-up in Montenegro as Liu bested Dvoress to win $860,000 and make history as the first-ever female Triton champion.
"I felt like I was on top of the world for just a minute there," Liu told PokerNews at last year's Triton Jeju festival.
And now, a year later, the two are running deep together in $30,000 Triton NLH - 8-Handed. Dvoress bagged the Day 1 chip lead with 18 players remaining, while Liu ended the day second in chips after securing a double up through Jingyao Yan.
