Guy Pierced

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Peter Warfvinge has just knocked out Guy Johnson, the latter was all in for his last remaining chips with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} on a {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop but Warfvinge held {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Johnson was drawing dead on the {A-Hearts} turn. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Johnson hit the rail.

Hamer Busted

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Lawrence Hamer moved all in from early position and Gregory Taylor reraised all in behind him - the pair were off to the races.

Hamer: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Taylor: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} and another player was eliminated. People have been dropping thick and fast in this first level.

Gone So Far

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Eames Setting Traps

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

John Eames opened for 2,000 and got one caller, Nicholas Newport from Ireland, in the cut-off. The blinds folded and it was heads up to a flop of {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Eames checked how much his opponent had (28,000) and bet 2,600. Newport called. {9-Diamonds} on the turn and Eames took his time before checking over to Newport who then bet 5,000. Eames went in the tank for close to five minutes before announcing “All in.” Newport quickly flicked his cards away and a frustrated Eames mucked his cards. Looks like Newport dodged a trap.

Low Risk

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Nick Abou Risk opened for 2,000 and was called by Tomasz Chmiel from Poland and Mick Graydon. The blinds folded and the dealer put out a flop of {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Abou Risk made a continuation bet of 2,600 and was now doubt disappointed to get 2 callers. {6-Spades} on the turn and Abou Risk checked. Chmiel bet 9,300 and took the pot down.

Sean of Their Chips

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

A huge pot just went the way of Sean Randall, who had already chipped a little so far, when he knocked out Lynne Beaumont and Adam Kelly in the same hand.

Beaumont: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Kelly: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Randall: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} making Randall a full house to knock out both other players out.

Anttonen Exits with a Straight.

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

PokerStars SportsStar Fatima De Melo opened for 2,100 and was called by Steven Ridgway sat to her left. Miikka Anttonen from Finland, who had just shoved the previous hand over an opener, now called in the big blind. “Might as well eh?” Teased De Melo. “Low cards, one time.” Responded Anttonen. Three players saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Anttonen checked and De Melo continued for 2,500.

Ridgway then made it 10,000 to go and Anttonen asked for the red all-in triangle to be thrown over to him. Back to De Melo who looked on in amusement as Anttonen put his jacket on. His all-in looked to be about 10,000 and De Melo seemed to have a decision. “Putting your Jacket on?” She asked. “It’s cold in here you know?” It wasn’t and De Melo folded. Anttonen’s stack was exactly 10,000 and the cards were turned over.

Anttonen had {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for the flopped straight and Ridgway tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn sealed Anttonen’s fate and the river fell {a-Spades}.
