Chris Moneymaker Eliminated

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker was down on his luck for the last few hours, and just lost the last of his chips.

He had just 53,000 left when he moved all in under the gun holding {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. His next door neighbor Phillip Corion had {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and wasn't going anywhere. Moneymaker already spoke out he expected to just have three live cards even before they rolled over their cards, and he turned out to be right.

The board came {2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{k-Spades} and all Moneymaker could say was “Good luck guys!”

"Women Don't Just Peel Potatoes!"

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Deborah Worley-Roberts
Deborah Worley-Roberts

Deborah Worley-Roberts, who lost a fair bit of chips to Leo Worthington-Leese early on today, just won back some chips. She opened under the gun and Daragh Davey in the big blind made the call.

Davey check called a bet of 8,600 on {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and check called another 12,000 on the {Q-Spades} turn. The river came the {4-Hearts} and Davey checked. Worley-Roberts thought about it for a bit, said "I have no f'ing idea what you have, so I check", and knocked on the table.

"Ace high" Davey exclaimed, and Worley-Roberts showed the winning {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

"Women don't just peel potatoes!" Worley-Roberts said laughing.

"No, they also do parsnip and cauliflower" Andrew Hutchison replied with a smile.

Day 2 Awaits

Chris Moneymaker brings 188,700 to the table today
Chris Moneymaker brings 188,700 to the table today

In about an hour time, it's time for Day 2 of the 2015 UKIPT Isle of Man Main Event. With just 97 of 349 entries remaining, the money is in sight. A total of 47 players will take home a minimum of £770, so that means 50 unfortunate souls will leave the tournament room empty handed today.

A total of ten 60-minute levels are scheduled today, unless a final table of 8 is reached before that. The first level to be played is 1,200/2,400 with a 300 ante, so the stakes are getting high.

Leading the charge is Day 1a chip leader Adrian Filiczkowski with 247,600 in chips (103 big blinds), followed closely by Day 1b chip leader Christopher Swinden who gathered 245,200 (102 big blinds) in the first ten levels of play.

Also still in contention are PokerStars Team Pro Chris Moneymaker and PokerStars Sport Star Fatima Moreira de Melo. Moneymaker (188,700) brings a whole lot more chips than Moreira de Melo (30,400), but the latter has the advantage of experience here in the Isle of Man as two years ago she finished runner up in this event.

The tournament re starts at noon sharp, so check back here in about an hour for coverage of Day 2 of the UKIPT Isle of Man Main Event!
