"Me and Big Daddy"

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Deborah Worley-Roberts
Deborah Worley-Roberts

Deborah Worley-Roberts opened to 7,500 from middle position and was called by Christopher Swinden, the chip leader.

"Oooh, me and big daddy!" said Worley-Roberts as she realised who had called her bet. Nobody else invested chips so it was heads-up to the {8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop.

"I'm so excited that I've forgotten what I've got!" said Worley-Roberts before checking her hole cards. "How about 12,000?"

Swinden called the 12,000 bet and the dealer put the {Q-Clubs} onto the turn.

"You hit some of that crappy flop? I don't think so, 15,000."

The 15,000 bet was enough to push Swinden out of the pot and Worley-Roberts' climb continues.

Smith Feeling Flush

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The Czech Republic's Adam Chochola was first to act and he raised to 8,600 from the button only to see Nick Smith three-bet all-in for 54,800 from the small blind. The big blind stepped out of the way, but Chochola considered the options available to him. Chochola cut out the chips to call and then sat studying Smith, who glanced at Chochola for a second before returning his gaze to the flop.

"I call," said Chochola out of the blue, turning over {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Those tens were leading against Smith's {A-Spades}{8-Spades} but when the five community cards fell {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} Smith completed his flush and left Chochola nursing a much shorter stack than he started the day with.

Brew Triples Thanks to Lucky Jack

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Gregory Brew open shoved his last 43,500 to the middle from middle position and his neighbor Jordan Johnson made the call. Action folded to Christopher Knights in the small blind and he pushed all in for around 160,000 it seemed. Johnson went into the tank but eventually open folded his {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Christopher Knights: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Gregory Brew: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

All Brew needed was a jack to triple up, and he did just that. The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Brew gathered all the chips in the pot.

Fletcher Loses Some Ground

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

With the money bubble rapidly approaching, Michael Fletcher has lost some ground and is currently nursing a 12-13 big blind stack after losing a pot to Pasquale Egisto.

Fletcher opened to 8,000 in the cutoff, Egisto called on the button and Paren Arzoomanian came along for the ride in the big blind. The latter checked on the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop, as did Fletcher, but Egisto bet 10,000. Arzoomanian folded and Fletcher put in the calling chops.

Both players checked the {2-Clubs} turn and then the {5-Clubs} river, Egito claiming the pot when Fletcher mucked after seeing his opponent's {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

Chris Moneymaker Eliminated

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker was down on his luck for the last few hours, and just lost the last of his chips.

He had just 53,000 left when he moved all in under the gun holding {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. His next door neighbor Phillip Corion had {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and wasn't going anywhere. Moneymaker already spoke out he expected to just have three live cards even before they rolled over their cards, and he turned out to be right.

The board came {2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{k-Spades} and all Moneymaker could say was “Good luck guys!”

Phillip Corion Busts in Massive Pot

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Phillip Corion
Phillip Corion

We picked up the action on a flop of {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} as Phillip Corion checked from the big blind. Craig Sewell in early position made a bet of 16,000 and Gareth Mcintosh raised it to 36,000 from the hijack. Corion asked how much Mcintosh had behind approximately, and announced a three bet to 85,000. Sewell made the call, Mcintosh folded.

The {K-Spades} hit the turn and Corion moved in. An exact count wasn't done by the dealer (but we estimated it at around 90,000) as Sewell instantly called. You could hear the table sigh as the cards were opened.

Phillip Corion: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Craig Sewell: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Corion needed the board to pair on the river to survive, but a blank {8-Hearts} appeared instead and he had to get up from the table and leave the tournament room.

With Corion's exit the tournament is down to 49 players, just 2 away from the money. Sewell is one of the biggest stacks in the room.
