Arapi Catches Vinnicombe Bluffing

Level 1 : 100/100, 100 ante
Alan Vinnicombe
Alan Vinnicombe

One player had limped and Dritan Arapi then raised to 700 for Alan Vinnicombe to call in the cutoff. Arapi led the {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop for 1,000 and Vinnicombe called. Both then checked the [Kc turn and Arapi check-called the {k-Spades} on the river when Vinnicombe made it 2,000 to go.

Vinnicombe shook his head and exposed the {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a missed gutshot, which Arapi had beat holding the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

Vinnicombe Drags in a Big Pot Right Away

Level 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

On the tail end of a bigger pot in the first level of the day, Alan Vinnicombe bet what appeared to be 10,000 with the board reading {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}{a-Spades}. His opponent called on the button and Vinnicombe tabled the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} for aces full to win a very healthy pot.

Trips for Argelazi

Level 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

Eliran Argelazi raised to 300 in the cutoff and was called by Joseph Lazor on the button. The {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop brought a bet of 300 by Argelazi and a call by Lazor. Following the {7-Diamonds} turn and {j-Clubs} river, the action repeated for 1,100 and 1,500 respectively and Argelazi tabled the {q-Spades}{9-Clubs} for trips nines to chip up early on.

Welcome to Day 1a of the 2022 PokerStars UKIPT London £1,100 Main Event

Hippodrome Casino - Location Shots
Hippodrome Casino - Location Shots

The long awaited return of the PokerStars United Kingdom And Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) sets foot into one of the most iconic venues in the UK, the Hippodrome Casino in the heart of London. Three starting days are available for the flagship tournament of the series, which has already kicked off on April 1, 2022. The £1,100 Main Event will run from April 7 to 10 and provides a deep structure for all participants.

Day 1 will feature 13 levels of 50 minutes each and the players receive 30,000 in chips with 300 big blinds in the first level. Two re-entries are allowed during the registration period until the end of level ten.

Several PokerStars ambassadors will be taking part including Parker Talbot, Ben Spragg, Sam Grafton and Ramon Colillas, all of which entered the £2,200 High Roller last night. The most expensive tournament of the series set a new record for the venue with 131 entries, which is a very promising sign for the £1,100 Main Event as well.

The first starting day gets underway at noon local time and there will be a break every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the end of level six. Both the Main Event and the final day of the High Roller will be played in Lola's, the new poker room at the Hippodrome on the ground floor of the former theatre.

Stay tuned for all the poker action from London as the PokerNews team will be on the floor to provide as many key hands as possible until a champion has been crowned.
