Assorted Eliminations Before the Dinner Break

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After losing the large three-way all-in just before the dinner break, Tim Wright bowed out before everyone else was sent off to grab something to eat. That also applied to Alex Goulder and Matthew Davenport, among others.

Updated Counts After Dinner

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Alexander Zeligman made "a few new friends" on his former table but also admitted that he ran pretty well. That being said, his new seat is strikingly similar to the one he occupied on Day 1a but with by far more chips at his disposal.

Sheils Binks the River to Bust Plocki

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Brandon Sheils
Brandon Sheils

Maciej Plocki raised to 2,800 and Brandon Sheils then three-bet to 6,800 from one seat over. Plocki pushed for 33,800 and Sheils eyeballed the stack of his table neighbour for ten seconds before making the call.

Maciej Plocki: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Brandon Sheils: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Nothing changed on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop but the {q-Diamonds} turn gave Sheils some additional outs. He did get there with the {a-Spades} on the river and had Plocki covered by a small margin.

"Everybody Loves a Chop Pot"

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Kully Sidhu
Kully Sidhu

Picking up the action on the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} turn, Joe Hindry check-called a bet worth 5,100 by Kully Sidhu and then checked again the {3-Hearts} on the river. Sidhu bet 12,000 and Hindry check-raised to 25,500 for Sidhu to call. They chopped it up as the {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} of Hindry and the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} of Sidhu both made broadway.

"Everybody loves a chop pot," Eliran Argelazi joked.

Strong Holding for Armstrong Weakens Sitbon's Stack

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With plenty of chips already in the middle, Julien Sitbon checked his option on the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} river. Ian Armstrong bet 30,000 and the Frenchman eventually called for around two thirds of his remaining stack. Armstrong tabled the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for sevens full and scooped the pot.

Four tables of Day 1c are now in the main tournament area and there was just a loud announcement by none other than Deborah Worley-Roberts, also known as "Debs the Destroyer". She had knocked out an opponent who flopped treys full of sixes as they "let her get there".

The same table also features the 2018 Irish Open champion Ryan Mandara and Bhavin Khatri. Level six is underway at blinds of 300-600 and a big blind ante of 600. According to the screens, there are 79 out of 97 entries remaining.

Adderley Doubles Through Argelazi

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

John Adderley limped the small blind and then got the last 25,300 in when Eliran Argelazi in the big blind popped it up to 21,000, which Argelazi called with the far bigger stack.

John Adderley: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Eliran Argelazi: {k-Spades}{4-Spades}

In a case of "there is always a sweat", the board ran out {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Adderley doubled with his set of aces.

Two Greeks Flip For It

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Angelos Nastos Megas went over the top of the open-shove of fellow countryman Nikolaos Kazakos and the rest of the table folded.

Nikolaos Kazakos: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Angelos Nastos Megas: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The overcard struck on the {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Kazakos doubled in the battle of the Greeks to pull ahead of Nastos Megas.
