The river was the 5♥. Munro checked, Straub bet 2,500 and Munro called. Straub showed K♥Q♣ for trip queens. Munro mucked his hand and Straub won the pot.
The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) has returned to Scotland for the first time in eight years. The UKIPT Edinburgh runs October 24-29 at Genting Casino Fountain Park. The £1,100 Main Event continues today with Day 1b starting at 1 p.m. local time.
Players in the Main Event will start the tournament with a stack of 30,000 chips. Blind levels will run for 40 minutes and start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day, including a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 8.
Day 1b is the second of three starting flights. A maximum of three entries per flight are allowed, with late registration open until the start of Level 11.
Day 1c, the turbo flight with 20-minute blinds, also runs today starting at 7 p.m. local time. Both flights will play down to 15 percent of the field. Those who make it through will return for Day 2 already in the money.
At the end of Day 1a, Daniel Gormley finished as the chip leader with 436,500 chips and Nohad Teliani bagged and tagged in second with 372,000.
