Day 1b of the PokerStars UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event, running at the Genting Casino Fountain Park, has now concluded. A total of 114 entries were made to the flight, and of those 17 players made it through to Day 2 and into the money.

After a bubble that lasted for several levels, Gajathan Kamalanathan has emerged as the chip leader with 669,000.

He's followed closely by PokerStars Team Pro player Fintan Hand, who bagged 606,000 chips after doubling up and then dominating the shorter stacks on the bubble.

PokerStars Team Online Pro Benjamin Spragg also made it through, as did UKIPT leaderboard front-runner David Docherty, as well as Ankit Ahuja.

Since the last reported action, David Docherty made a bluff on the river and was called by Stephen Mckay, who had a pair of aces.

Marle Spragg then doubled up again from the big blind to survive.

Marle Spragg was still short when she got her chips in the middle from the small blind against Fintan Hand. Marle had pocket sevens and held to win a flip and double her stack.

A few hands later on another table, Benjamin Spragg made a reshove against a late position raise. He was called and went to the races with pocket jacks. He made a set on the turn and quad jacks on the river to double his stack.

Fintan Hand placed out a large bet on the turn on a board of 3472. Mark Eadie called. The river was the J. Eadie checked and Fintan bet 125,000. Eadie made the call. Fintan won the pot with AQ, the ace high flush draw, which brought his stack up to over 400,000.
