Day 1b of the PokerStars UKIPT London Main Event, running at the Hippodrome Casino, has now wrapped up.
The flight started off slow but soon picked up as players took their seats and the numbers increased. By the end of late registration, a total of 193 entries had been made.
The top 15 percent progressed, meaning 29 players made it through to Day 2 and into the money.
Alberto Speranzoni of Italy steadily gained momentum throughout the day and finished Day 1b in first place with 584,000 chips.
Denys Vaskovets of Ukraine ended the flight in second place with 418,000. Not far behind, Daniel Bedson of the UK finished in third with 354,000.

2023 Irish Open winner and currently top of the UKIPT leaderboard, David Docherty was among those to make it through, bagging up in sixth place with 282,000 chips.
Several satellite qualifiers also made Day 2, including Clare Wilson, who won her ticket in a flip and go final at the Hippodrome ladies' club. She finished the flight in 15th place with 189,000.
The Main Event will continue Saturday at 12 p.m. local time. The event is expected to play deep into the money and down to the final table on Day 2.
