The Full Tilt Poker Bar

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

"There’s foosball and a lot of drinking going on in that room," is what Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Martins Adeniya told us earlier today in reference to the Players' Lounge here in Galway. He's actually right, but can blame the players from taking advantage of the fine selection at the Full Tilt Poker Bar.

Yesterday we told you about the Poker Face Cafe, so we thought we'd balance things out with a look at the FTP Bar menu.

Here are just a few of the beverage choices:

  • Pt. Guinness ... €4.90
  • Btl. Budweiser ... €5.10
  • Ketel One ... €6.50
  • Johnny Walker Balck ... €6.50
  • Swallows' Tail Chenin Blanc ... €24.00
  • Las Condes Merlot ... €24.00
  • Champagne by the Glass ... €5.70
  • Coke ... €2.00
  • Red Bull ... €3.25
  • Juice ... €2.30
  • Coffee ... €3.00

Ben Jenkins, who has been playing professionally since 2009 with career highlights including a chop of PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up and a number of significant final table appearances, was recently name an ambassador for Full Tilt Poker, so we thought it'd be worthwhile to spend time with the dapper dresser.

We decided to do an entire orbit with the pro, who was sitting with around 14,000 at the time. Here's what we witnessed:

Hand #1 (UTG +1): The under-the-gun player folded and Jenkins did the same.

Hand #2 (Under the Gun): Jenkins was first to act and folded.

Hand #3 (Big Blind): Action folded to the small blind who raised. Jenkins folded.

Hand #4 (Small Blind): Action folded to Jenkins and he put in a raise to 800, which Simone Srtookman defended from the big. When the flop came down {5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Jenkins continued for 900 and Srtookman folded.

Hand #5 (Button): Jenkins folded the button after the player in the hijack opened for 700.

Hand #6 (Cutoff): Action folded around to Jenkins and he did the same.

Hand #7 (Hijack): A player opened for 700 in middle position and Jenkins folded.

Hand #8 (Middle Position): Jenkins folded after action folded to him.

It wasn't an exciting orbit, but then again, poker is slow more times than not.

Let's Have Ourselves a Break

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Two more levels down means it's time for another 15-minute break. When they return, players will play two more one-hour levels before taking a dinner break. Once that's done, they'll return for four more levels of play before action comes to an end on Day 1a. There's still plenty more play to be had!

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

When we last checked in with Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree, she was sitting with half the starting stack. Well, it appears she's righted the ship as she is now above the starting stack with 25,000.

We're not sure how she got them — probably a double — but we did catch her in a hand against Ireland's Michael Naughton. It began when Boeree opened for 450 from the hijack and then called when Naughton three-bet to 1,250 from the button. Both players checked the {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop as well as the {2-Spades} turn and the {10-Clubs} was put out on the river.

Boeree opted to toss out a bet of 1,200, and after thinking for about 40 seconds, Naughton made the call. Boeree tabled the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} (Fun Fact: that's the same hand Phil Hellmuth used to win the 1989 World Series of Poker Main Event) and it was good as Naughton mucked his cards.

Ship it to Boeree!

We're not sure of the details, but we do know that PokerStars qualifier Paul Allen was just eliminated by Full Tilt qualifier Timothy Davie.
