Farrell Misstep

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Niall Farrell just made the wrong move at the wrong time. We'd arrived to see a mammoth 200,000 chip pot being shipped over to David Scully who had held pocket {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} on a {7-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts} board. And what was Farrell's hand perchance? Kings? Queens? Ace-King?

Err...not quite, apparently Farrell had made an ambitious move with the less than stellar {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}...

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jake Cody has had a really good day so far, he's just eliminated Chris Derrick with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} against {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} after the board came {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. The Team PokerStars Pro is now over the 200,000 mark.

Slovenian Down

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Daniel Bavec, a PokerStars player from Slovenia, got his last 20,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} and was ahead of the {k-Spades}{q-Spades} of Frank Romanello.

Bavec liked the {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Spades} flop as well as the {3-Clubs} turn, but then the {Q-Clubs} spiked on the river to pair Romanello. Bavec rapped the table and then made silently took his leave from the Main Event.

Lapp it Up

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

David Kilmartin Lappin is out, it looked like he four-bet shoved from the button with {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} against Miklos Soproni but the latter also had a real hand in {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The board came {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Soproni's straight put him among the chip leaders.

Pipe Down

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Former EPT finalist Michael Piper had bet 3,800 on the turn of a {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} but Richard Owens check-raised to 11,000. Pipper then made it 24,000 to go and Owens quickly moved all in. Piper pulled a face like a smacked bottom and folded.

Quisito Alfandega opened for 4,000 in first position and it was folded around to Jake Cody in the small blind who raised to 25,000. The big blind folded and Alfandega made the call. The dealer put out a flop of {5-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Cody led for 20,200 and Alfandega moved all in. Cody quickly called and tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Alfandega showed {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

The last two card were {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Alfandega headed for the exit as Cody stacked his chips.
