Driving Miss Dacey

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Erstwhile former blogger of PokerStars tournaments, now living on the Isle of Man and working for the corporate blog, Rick Dacey is playing today. We're keeping eye on the pun-loving, tie-wearing man now known as #CorporateDacey. Sharing a table with Steve O'Dwyer and Martins Adeniya, it's one of the tougher looking areas of the tournament.

Dacey just picked up a pot with a 2,000 bet on the turn of a {6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} board. Dacey has 16,500.

Daven-Port of Call

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

The board was reading {3-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, Matthew Davenport had checked and David Lewis had bet 6,000. The action was on Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Martins Adeniya, who tanked for several minutes before opting to fold.

Davenport quickly made the call and Lewis shook his head, showing {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Davenport turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and picked up the pot. Lewis sighed, looking at the shrapnel he had left, "At least I don't have to travel far to get home..."

Making Money In Position

Paul Allen opened the action for 400 under the gun and got called by Chris Moneymaker on the button and the player in the small blind. The flop was {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and it was checked to Allen.

Allen was the aggressor, it was a decent board, he continuation bet for 600. Moneymaker made it 1,300 and with the small blind out of the way it was back to Allen. He didn’t want to play and Moneymaker took the pot. On the next hand Moneymaker opened for 400 from the cut-off and added the blinds to his steadily increasing stack.

Dacey A Man Of His Word

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Rick Dacey

Rick Dacey, Rational Group Staff member and Corporate Writer for PokerStars, visited the media room before play got underway today. He told us of previous tournaments where he had cost himself chips in crucial pots where he knew he was beaten but had made a bad call. Today, he informed us, was going to be different. He would make those folds and congratulate himself on doing so.

Just back from the break Dacey opened for 350 in the cut-off, got called by the button and then faced a three-bet from David Lewis in the big blind. Dacey nonchalantly flicked out the call as did the button. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} and a bet of 1,000 from Lewis saw Dacey flick his two unwanted cards towards the dealer.

Dacey is, if nothing else, a man of his word.

Haxton's Setting Himself Up Nicely

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Team Online's Ike Haxton's tournament has gone smoothly so far, he just had a 4,000 bet paid off by Timothy Dearing on the river of a {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} board. Haxton turned over {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a set and picked up the pot.
