Milne Prices Himself in For a Call

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

Richard Milne was seated on the button and he raised to 8,000. Milne met some resistance in the shape of Tom Blair in the small blind who three-bet to 18,000. Milne then made it 48,000 to go, which left him with only 72,000 chips behind. Blair read this as strength and mucked his hand.

Garnier Knocks Out Koskinen

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

Juha Koskinen has bust at the hands of France's Philippe Garnier. The chips went into the middle before the flop, Koskinen holding {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} and needing some help from the community cards because Garnier held he superior {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

That help failed to arrive as the dealer spread the {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs} board and Finland's Koskinen was knocked out.

Garnier and Ozimek Collide

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

From earlier position, Michael Ozimek raised to 6,400 and the action folded around to Unibet France sponsored pro Philippe Garnier on the button. Garnier called and the blinds folded.

Ozimek asked if Garnier was playing 60,000 chips, to which Garnier replied "a bit more but not much."

The flop came {7-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Ozimek made a continuation bet of 5,600 and was quickly called. The turn was another king, the {K-Hearts} specifically and Ozimek didn't slow down, instead opting to bet 6,800. It must have been a bet to test the waters because the 25,000 raise that Garnier made had hardly touched the felt when Ozimek's cards were heading towards the muck.

Taylor Takes Out Rozema

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

The tournament is now down to 55 players following the elimination of Jonathan Rozema.

Rozema raised all-in for 26,000 from under the gun with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and may count himself unfortunate to run into the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} of Brian Taylor on the button. By the river the board read {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Rozema wish his former table mates good luck before heading for the exits.

Twenty-four of these 55 players receive prize money, the rest leave Glasgow with only memories to show for their effort.

Mortensen Comeback Takes a Hit

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante
Morten Mortensen
Morten Mortensen

Morten Mortensen recovered well during the level prior tot he break but just lost some ground in a clash with Ramunas Granskas.

Granskas raised to 7,000 from middle position and then called when Mortensen re-raised to 16,500 from the cutoff. Granskas checked the {4-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, Mortensen bet 12,600 and Granskas check-raised to 26,500. Mortensen took a second look at his hole cards, decided he didn't like them and sent them back to the dealer.

Baby Flush Works For Ozimek

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The action folded around to Katja Svendsen in the small blind and she limped in. Michael Ozimek checked from the big blind and the dealer got busy spreading the {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. Svendsen led for 3,000 and Ozimek called.

Svendsen checked the arrival of the {7-Spades} turn. Ozimek bet 7,700 and Svenden check-raised to 18,000. Ozimek paused for a few moments before calling.

Another seven, the {7-Diamonds}, completed the board and Svendsen bet 23,000. Sixty-seconds later, Ozimek called and turned over {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a flush, much stronger than Svendsen's {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} that had improved to trip tens.

Mortensen Pays Off Chutrov

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Daniel Chutrov
Daniel Chutrov

Talented Danish pro Morten Mortensen checked from his seat in the cutoff with the flop reading {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} putting the action on the tournament chip leader Daniel Chutrov. A bet of 6,000 left the hands of Chutrov and Mortensen called the bet.

The turn was the {J-Spades}, making the board extremely draw heavy. Mortensen checked again and then called when Chutrov bet 13,500. The river was the {8-Clubs} and Mortensen checked for a third time. Chutrov reached for chips and bet 16,000 on the river and after around 30-45 seconds, Motensen called obviously not believing Chutrov had a straight.

Mortensen was correct, Chutrov didn't have a straight but he did hold {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a set of deuces, enough to win the pot.
