Paluszkiewicz Catches a Lucky River

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Kamil Paluszkiewicz fired a bet of 6,000 on the {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and Chen Wenbin raised to 16,000 from the button. Paluszkiewicz responded with an all-in bet of 52,900 and Wenbin instantly called.

Paluszkiewicz showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and was drawing very thin against the {7-}{5-} that had flopped two pair. Those two pair improved to a full house on the {5-Spades} turn, but the {8-Spades} river was one of Paluszkiewicz's two outs and he raked in the pot with a beaming smile on his face.

Dobrowolski Almost Trebles Up; Kellcher Busts

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Katja Svendsen, who finished second in chips on Day 1a, opened to 5,200 from middle position. To Svendsen's direct left was another female player in the shape of Vera Kellcher and she instantly moved all-in for 17,000. The small blind, Mariusz Dobrowolski then moved all-in for 20,800 and Svendsen called.

Svendsen: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Kellcher: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Dobrowolski: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The first three community cards fell {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} with the turn being the {A-Spades} and the river the {5-Diamonds} to give Dobrowolski's stack a significant boost and to send Kellcher to the rail.

Thor Lays Down The Hammer Blow

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Paul van t Veer checked his hole cards before raising to 5,300 from middle position. Thor Erik Higraff was next to act and he three-bet to 12,800. With the action back on him, van t Veer verbally announced "27.3" and made a four-bet to that amount.

Higraff rubbed his bearded chin, took a sip of his water before moving all-in for 104,800 in total. van t Veer called and the huge pot created.

van t Veer turned over {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} a powerhouse of a hand yet one that was in terrible shape against Higraff's {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Higraff knelt on his seat and watched intently as the dealer got to work putting the aces-friendly {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board into view and van t Veer silently handed over a large portion of his hard-earned stack.

Kadlubiak Is Kaput

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

A short-stacked Juraj Kadlubiak three-bet all-in with what turned out to be {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} after Heins Kalde had opened the betting with {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Neither player improved on the {6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board so Kalde's king-kicker played and Kadlubiak crashed out of the Main Event.

Kings Are Good For Granskas

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The action passed to Ramunas Granskas in the hijack and he set the price to play at 4,600. Roderick MacNeil, on the button, called and both blinds let their hands go.

Granskas continued with a 6,300 bet on the paired {5-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and was called. The {8-Clubs} turn was greeted with a 10,400 bet from Granskas and a call from MacNeil. A flush-completing {9-Spades} was the river and Granskas checked. MacNeil checked behind and showed the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, which was beaten by Granskas' {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Paluszkiewicz Hits Quads and Doubles

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Kamil Paluszkiewicz is up to 25,000 after doubling through big stack Chen Wenbin.

Paluszkiewicz pushed all-in from late position for 11,200 chips and Wenbin looked him up from the small blind. It was {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for Paluszkiewicz and {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for Wenbin. The {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop gifted Paluszkiewicz a set of eights, while the {4-Hearts} turn was a relative blank. The {8-Clubs} river improved Paluszkiewicz to quads and he doubled to 25,000.

Bjorsmo Five Bets All-In

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Annar Bjorsmo opened from the button to 4,000 and was immediately three-bet to 9,800 from the Netherlands' Paul van t Veer on the button. The small blind passed, but Alexander Hart in the big blind had other ideas, ideas that involved four-betting to 26,800.

With the action back on him, Bjorsmo pushed all-in and even included his ID card for good measure. Hart asked for a count and was informed it would cost him 114,700 to call, which was the majority of his stack.

Hart looked in pain as he went through his decision making. He took a look at his cards, placed two blue 1,000 chips on them and continued thinking. Eventually, after around a minute, Hart settled on a fold and made a reluctant one.

"Queens?" asked Bjorsmo

Hart shook his head and looked rocked about having to four-bet fold.

Nielsen Doubles Through de Hond

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Hans de Hond raised from the button and then quickly called when Lars-Erik Fabricius Nielsen three-bet all-in from the small blind for around 15,000 chips.

It was a typical coinflip, de Hond holding {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Nielsen the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Nielsen's "snowmen" didn't melt on the {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Spades} flop, looked positively jolly on the {6-Clubs} turn and when the {Q-Clubs} landed on the river, Nielsen's double was complete.
