The Dream is Over for Lappin

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
David Lappin
David Lappin

David Lappin was the last Team Unibet ambassador and the last few hours had not been as kind to him. Over on the feature table, his stack had tumbled down to just 58,000 and he jammed on the button, Benny Glaser called in the big blind.

David Lappin: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Benny Glaser: {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop gave Glaser a gutshot and the {J-Diamonds} turn changed nothing just yet. However, the {A-Clubs} fell on the river and that ended the dream of Lappin to win a Unibet Open Main Event title on home soil.

Schable Doubles Through Foley

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Sean Foley and David Schable were involved in the most classic of coin flips and it was Schable at risk for 176,000.

David Schable: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Sean Foley: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Schable rivered the flush to double. Folex couldn't help but gasp a "fuck sake."

Torissian Eliminated by Ellis

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Benny Glaser was left short on the feature table but doubled through Henri Koivisto with the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} versus {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}, the board came {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} and the kicker played.

On the outer tables, Nicolas Torossian defended his big blind against an under-the-gun raise by Joseph Ellis and check-called a bet on the {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. On the {9-Hearts} turn, Torossian checked and got his stack in with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a pair and gutshot. Ellis had flopped a set with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the {5-Clubs} river failed to keep the Frenchman in contention.

McCormack Above a Million; Fitzgerald on the Rail

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Elias Vaaraniemi raised to 23,000 from early position and picked up two callers in Mick McCloskey in the hijack and Thomas Fitzgerald in the cutoff. Robbie McCormack three-bet to 125,000 on the button and Vaaraniemi quickly folded, while McCloskey needed more time to come to the same conclusion.

Fitzgerald then shoved for around 300,000 and McCormack called.

Thomas Fitzgerald: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Robbie McCormack: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board came {Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and Fitzgerald was left empty-handed, while McCormack became the first player above a million in chips.

De Vos Doubles

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Over on the feature table, a short-stacked Rory De Vos was all in for just under seven big blinds in the small blind and tabled the {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Benny Glaser on the button held {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and failed to get there despite plenty of outs on a board of {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

On the outer tables, Patrick Clarke shoved into a bet of 55,000 by John Farrell on the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} river and forced a fold. Farrell had come back 20 minutes late and lost the first active hand after dinner.

Hoodendijk's Aces Won't Hold

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Keith Brennan raised and Anko Hoogendijk just called from two seats over. Michael Brock then moved all in and Brennan folded, Hoogendijk, however, snap-called for a reason.

Anko Hoogendijk: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Michael Brock: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

"I folded a ten," Brennan said in table chat and that was bad news for Brock. The board came {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} and that sent Hoogendijk into a world of pain, he walked away from the table before heading to the payout desk.

Souliotis Loses Flip

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Sean Foley raised to 22,000 and short stack Konstantinos Souliotis shoved for 66,000 from one seat over. It was no snap call, but Foley tossed in the additional chips.

Konstantinos Souliotis: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Sean Foley: {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop and {8-Hearts} turn were of no change, but the {K-Diamonds} on the river improved Foley to send Souliotis to the rail in 31st place.

Jux Holderness Finishes Off Brunnberg

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Emil Brunnberg
Emil Brunnberg

Before the dinner break, Paul Jux Holderness had doubled through Emil Brunnberg when he flopped a set of eights and Brunnberg held {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair and flush draw. After the dinner break, both clashed over on the feature table and it was Brunnberg at risk for fewer than three big blinds.

Emil Brunnberg: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Paul Jux Holderness: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Brunnberg was eliminated in 32nd place.
