From 115 players left out of the initial 360 entrants, the goal was to reach the final table on Day 2 of the 2023 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. It was a close call as Jozsef Hegyi was eliminated on the last hand of the day, but we now have the names of the nine finalists of the tournament.

Among the finalists, a local player ended Day 2 in first place as Romania's Eduard Norel bagged the chip lead with 1,970,000 chips. After he burst the bubble earlier in the day, he secured a big double up during the last hands of the night to take the lead and maintained it until the end.

Similar situation for Max Broens, who doubled up during the last level and burst the final table bubble. Thanks to these pots, he joined the top positions and concluded the day with 1,760,000 chips. It is just a blind more compared to Dragos Anton (1,725,000), who held 2,200,000 chips at 11 left. But he lost a bit and will be third in chips at the beginning of the final table.

Dwayne Sluis will also be back with more than one million chips (1,425,000 chips), as well as the Day 1s chipleader, Robert Burlacu (1,260,000). A few blinds behind, with approximately 35 bigs, Ivan Alin Constantin (920,000) and Sorin Flutur (855,000) will still have room to maneuver too.

However, things will be a bit harder for Bjorn Samuelsson and his 470,000 chips, and for Bart Van Dijk, who'll be back with 310,000 chips. But at least, he'll be on the final table, as he only had three blinds left after Norel doubled through him during the last 60 minutes.

Tomorrow, Sunday, December 3, the nine remaining players will be back for the 2023 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event Final Table. They are guaranteed to win €6,770, but they are all looking for the €65,830 first-place prize.

To reach this top spot, they'll have to take all the chips, starting on Level 22 with the blinds set at 10,000/25,000/25,000. Levels will be one-hour long at the beginning of the final table, then decrease after some eliminations.
