Forge failed to connect on the Q♣10♣2♦6♥6♦ runout, and his run ended with a third place finsih.
Forge’s deep run also carried a personal storyline. Like Ghali Hsissen earlier in the day, he had family support on the rail, with his father cheering him on and his partner, expecting their first child within the next two weeks. Remarkably, Forge’s father Georges also secured a runner-up finish in another event at the festival, giving the family plenty to celebrate despite the near misses.
