Day 1cd Started
The spotlight once again falls on the purple and black felt of Casino de Marrakech today as the 2025 Unibet DeepStack Open (UDSO) Marrakech Main Event plays out its final two starting flights.
Day 1c kicks off at 1 p.m. local time with the same structure that has already tested more than 450 hopefuls across the opening two sessions. Players will sit down with a 50,000 stack and 50-minute levels, playing down to 25% of the field before bagging chips for Saturday’s Day 2. For those looking for one last shot, the Day 1d Turbo gets underway at 9 p.m.
By Friday evening, we’ll know the full field size and prize pool, with all survivors merging into Day 2 tomorrow and a new champion to be crowned on Sunday, September 21.
The Main Event launched on Wednesday with 210 entries and played nearly twelve levels before the field was whittled down to 52 survivors.
Thierry Oldak led the way with 545,000 after another successful outing in Morocco, where two of his biggest career results have come. He was chased by fellow countrymen Salah Eddine Taleb (517,500) and Frederic Popot (479,500).
Unibet ambassador Alexandre Reard made it through on a short stack, but fellow ambassador Arnaud Enselme was among the casualties, and has yet to book his spot in Day 2.
Thursday’s second flight swelled the field to 466 entries as 256 players took their shot. After twelve levels, 63 were left standing, with Mustapha Berraho out in front on 510,000. Marius Agica (426,500) and French bracelet winner Said El Yousfi (425,000) rounded out the top three, while Mauro Dantas (384,000) and Jean Dumartin (384,000) also finished strong.
The final elimination of the night saw French comedian Ahmed Sylla bust with suited connectors against Dumartin’s ace-ten.

Khalil Tazi and Ismail Fath-Eddine exchanged raises preflop that saw the latter all-in for their last 29,300. Tazi had him covered by around 18,000.
Ismail Fath-Eddine: A♦J♦
Khalil Tazi: 10♠10♦
Fath-Eddine took the lead on the A♥8♠5♠ flop, and the 2♣ turn and 9♥ river ensured he wasn't the day's first elimination.
On the next deal, Arthur Navellou opened to 1,100 from the button. Fath-Eddine and Tazi called from the blinds.
The 4♠3♦3♥ flop checked through to the 5♣ turn. It checked to Navellou, who bet 1,200. Only Tazi called.
Tazi then snap-folded to a bet of 2,700 on the K♦ river.

Olivier Le Moullec raised to 500 from the hijack. Jaeck Yann and Cristina Jugastru called from the button and big blind.
It checked through to the turn for the board to read 9♣8♦2♦9♠. Jugastru led out for 2,300, but regretted it immediately.
"Too much! I meant 1,300," she laughed. Le Moullec immediately got out of the way before Yann pondered briefly before ditching his 6♣6♦.

France’s Isabel Baltazar became the latest champion at UDSO Marrakech on Thursday, taking down the UDSO High Roller for 523,000 MAD (€49,162). Baltazar became the second women to pick up a trophy in Morocco, after Aurelie Reard won the Warm Up earlier in the series.
The most expensive tournament of the festival drew 193 entries to generate a prize pool of 2,475,200 MAD (approx. €232,700), and has offered up the biggest first-place prize so far.
Baltazar began the day as chip leader and went wire-to-wire to claim the championship belt, marking the third-biggest score of her career and her first recorded win since 2015. The result also moves her career live earnings past $1.2 million.
Gregory Dupuy collected 365,000 MAD for his runner-up finish, while recent EPT Barcelona Main Event 11th-place finisher Yohan Rascar took third place for 242,000 MAD.
