Day 1b of the UDSO Main Event Marrakech is now on a 60-minute dinner break. The players will return at 9:30 p.m. local time.
Late registration remains open for one more level after the players fill their stomachs. After that, it's a sprint to the finish line, which will appear when 25% of the field remains.
Michel Caussines raised from the cutoff and was called by Abdelkarim Mahieddine and Claude Mamalepot from the button and big blind.
Malepot and Caussines checked on the Q♥J♦7♠ flop, prompting Mahieddine to bet 7,000. Malepot quickly made it 20,000, which pushed out Cassines. Mahieddine called.
On the 9♠ turn, Mamalepot fired out 29,000 and called as the slightly bigger stack when his opponent jammed for 49,500.
Abdelkarim Mahieddine: K♦10♥
Claude Mamalepot: Q♣10♠
Mahieddine had the king-high straight, and Mamalepot was drawing to only half of the pot. The 8♠ river gave Mamelepot a no good queen-high straight and he was reduced to a short stack.
On the next deal, Mahieddine made it 4,500 and called when TA_MIchel put in his last 12,000.
TA_Michel: KxQx
Abdelkarim Mahieddine: Qx10x
Mahieddine would go on to make another straight as the board ran out with the A♦K♠5♦J♠3♦.
Andre Cherkashin opened to 3,000 from middle position and was called by Chakib Bennani from the cutoff. Ali Alawadhi moved all in for 16,500 from the big blind. This forced out Cherkashin, but Bennani called as the slightly bigger stack.
Ali Alawadhi: Q♥Q♣
Chakib Bennani: K♠J♣
Alawadhi remained ahead on the A♥10♥3♥ flop and sealed the double after the 6♥ turn. The K♥ completed the board, giving Alawadhi 80% of a Royal Flush.
On the next deal, Guillaume Darcourt opened to 3,000 from under the gun and Alawadhi called from the small blind.
Darcourt's continuation bet on the 9♠4♦2♣ flop took down the pot.
Abdelkarim Mahieddine raised from middle position before UDSO High Roller bubble boy Kamal Jbirane jammed for around 65,000 from the hijack. Ramzi Bourgi called off his last 40,000 from the button and Mahieddine got out of the way.
Ramzi Bourgi: A♣Q♣
Kamal Jbirane: 10♣9♠
The A♠8♦4♦ kepy Bourgi ahead, but the 10♠ turn gave Jbirane some hope. Bourgi ended up with trips as the board finished off with the A♦ river.
