Ismael Slaoui limped in from early position and Hafid Alaoui did the same from the next seat over. Azeddine Chamma then raised to 8,000 from late position and was called by both players.
The 5♦3♠2♥ flop checked through to the 9♥ turn. Slaoui led out for 7,000 and Chamma was the only caller.
Slaoui put in 15,000 on the 8♣ river and was snap-called. Slaoui immediately tapped the table to concede the pot but still tabled his Ax7x. Chamma had the winner with a pair of nines as he showed down K♠9♠.
Adam El Bied opened to 4,000 from early position and was called by Zahir and Philippe Gouhier from the button and big blind.
It checked to Zahir on the Q♣9♣3♠ flop, and his 10,000 bet folded out both players.
On another table, Isabel Baltazar also demonstrated the advantage of being last to act.
Marouane Tijani raised to 4,000 from middle position. He received calls from Kelevra, Isabel Baltazar and Dosto.
On the 10♦10♣4♦ flop, it checked to Baltazar who was in the hijack and last to act in the hand. She fired out 9,000 and took down the pot.
Action was caught on the completed board 9♠8♦K♥Q♣6♣ with 50,000 in the pot.
In the 1,000/1,500 level, Eric Apikan led out for 25,000 from the small blind but was put in a world of hurt when Carlos Dos Santos jammed for 67,500.
Apikan knew he was in trouble, but muttered "I don't think I can fold," to himself. After several moments of thinking time, he flicked in a calling chip.
Dos Santos had J♣10♦ for a king-high straight. Apikan had K♠6♥ for two pair and saw his stack dwindle to 63,000.

Khoddar tabled A♠3♠ for the nut flush draw and took down the pot.

Last year’s field of 861 entries at the 2024 Unibet Deepstack Open Marrakech saw Nicolas Barkusky reign victorious at the Casino de Marrakech.
Barkusky took home the first place prize of 705,000 MAD, equivalent to just over €65,000. Barkusky came into the final table with just 16 big blinds, picking his spots and staying patient throughout the final table as other players busted. Eventually, he found a few clutch double-ups and rode that momentum all the way to the title.
