Action was picked up on a flop of J♠7♥9♠ with 30,000 in the middle. Idir Haiche was already all in from late position, and a dry sidepot was contested between small blind Truquens and Goulpinte on the button.
Truquens led out for 12,000, and called when his opponent clicked it back to 25,000. He then check-called a bet of 27,000 on the 5♣ turn, bringing in the 3♠ river. Here, Truquens pushed his full stack of 134,000 forward, covering his opponent's 85,000. Goulpinte thought for a moment before folding.
Truquens showed 10♣9♣ and scooped the side pot, shrugging his shoulders at Goulpinte in the process.
Haiche wagged his finger at Truquens, indicating that the main pot was his. "It's fine for me," said Truquens, as Haiche tabled A♣A♠ for his survival.
"Did you fold a jack?" he asked Goulpinte. Goulpinte nodded.
Action was picked up with late position Lucas92 all in and at risk against Jonathan Therme on the button on a flop of A♦J♦4♦
Lucas92: K♣6♣
Jonathan Therme: Q♣Q♦
Lucas92 was already handing over his chips before the A♠2♣ runout was completed.
In the 1,008th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by 888poker, Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz are joined by former host Matt "Matty Bet" Hansen to talk about the latest in the poker world. That includes a big hand, what some might call a punt, by Daniel Negreanu at the final table of an online bracelet event on GGPoker. See the hand and make a determination for yourself, but then hear what Negreanu had to say.
From there, a pair of poker influencers, Abby Merk and Ethan "Rampage" Yau, made headlines after their respective behavior on two different live-streamed cash games, 888poker's XL Autumn series is underway, and big winners from Borgata's Big, Big Series. Speaking of winners, also hear about big wins from Nick Schulman, Nick Petrangelo, Ben Tollerene, and Joao Simao at the Triton Jeju.

Goulpinte opened to 2,500 from early position. Belghiti Smail called two doors down, as did Bradley92 in the cutoff. Jason Barton then made it 14,000 to go on the button, and Goulpinte clicked it back to 25,500. Both flatters folded, Barton shoved his 45,000, and Goulpinte made the call.
Jason Barton: Q♠Q♣
Goulpinte: A♦K♥
An ace-high flop spelled the end for Barton, as he was unable to best top-top on the full 10♠A♣4♦3♣J♠ runout. He wished his opponents well before leaving the tournament area.
Action was picked up with small blind Fausto Munz, under the gun Younes Charrat and cutoff Abdullah Akbarpoor each committing 8,000 into the middle preflop.
The 6♠3♥10♥ flop saw Munz lead out for 10,000. Charrat folded, and Akbarpoor called, bringing in the 8♣ turn. Munz moved all in for 22,500, and Akbarpoor thought for quite some time before eventually sticking in a call for his tournament life.
Abdullah Akbarpoor: 7♦6♦
Fausto Munz: A♣6♥
Akbarpoor had outs, but was unable to find any on the 10♣ river, sending him to the rail.
Level: 8
Blinds: 600/1,200
Ante: 1,200
Action was picked up on a flop of 6♣2♠9♣. Joao Pedro Santos in early position checked over to his opponent Toktok2b, who bet 6,000 into a pot of 17,500 from middle position. Pedro Santos called to see the J♣ turn.
Here, Pedro Santos checked once again, and very quickly called his opponents bet of 15,500, which took both players to the 8♦ river.
Pedro Santos checked for a third time, and Toktok2b went deep into the tank, before eventually announcing "all in," the bet totalling 36,100. Pedro Santos himself then went into the tank, and took well over a minute before returning his cards face down.
Younes Charrat opened to 2,000 from early position, before Abdullah Akbarpoor made it 5,500 to go on the button. The blinds got out of the way, and Charrat stuck in a call.
The 5♦K♣6♦ flop saw Charrat check it over, then jam for his 28,800 following Akbarpoor's continuation-bet of 5,000. Akbarpoor went into the tank, before eventually calling it off.
Younes Charrat: K♦Q♦
Abdullah Akbarpoor: K♠J♦
Akbarpoor was in awful shape, as he had kicker problems, as well as being up against a flush draw. That being said, he had kicker problems no more with the A♠6♣ runout giving both players two pair and an ace kicker. The dealer split the pot, and handed the chips out accordingly.
