More Chips for Bonomo

Level 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Justin Bonomo raised to 4,000 from the hijack and David Peters called in the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Peters checked to Bonomo who continued for 3,000. Peters check-raised to 12,000 and Bonomo called.

The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and Peters slowed down with another check. Bonomo fired 14,000 and Peters called to see the {k-Hearts} on the river. Peters checked again and Bonomo slid in a bet of 30,000. Peters looked back at his cards before deciding to muck his cards.

Marchese Stirs the Pot on Table 2

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante
Tom Marchese
Tom Marchese

In a matter of three hands, chips were flying everywhere on table 2. Stephen Chidwick opened to 3,500 and was called by Ryan Riess in the small blind and David Peters in the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the action checked around to the {9-Hearts} on the turn. Riess led out for 6,000 and was raised to 19,000 by Peters. Chidwick folded and Riess called to see the {q-Spades} on the river. Riess check-folded to a bet of 25,000 from Peters.

In the next hand, Tom Marchese opened to 4,500 on the button and Bryn Kenney three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind. Marchese splashed in a four-bet to 37,000, only to have Kenney move all in. Marchese quickly mucked his hand and moved on to the next one.

Riess opened to 4,000 and Marchese re-raised to 11,000. With the action back on Riess, he four-bet to 29,500 and Marchese announced all in. Riess called and the cards were on their backs. Marchese was out front with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Riess would need to hit an ace holding {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Marchese doubled up, leaving Riess with next to no chips. Riess would go on to bust just a couple of hands later.

Lauren Roberts opened to 2,500 on the button and Cary Katz three-bet to 7,500 on the button. Roberts called and the flop fell {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Katz checked to Roberts who bet 8,000 and Katz called.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and Katz checked again. Roberts continued to bet, this time for 15,000. Katz called one more time and the {j-Clubs} landed on the river. Katz checked for the third time and Roberts quickly slung in a bet of 30,000. Katz folded just as fast and Roberts raked in an early pot.

Tilston Finds a Crack in Bonomo

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante

Brian Wilson opened to 3,000 from under the gun and Justin Bonomo called on the button. Keith Tilston was in the big blind and re-raised to 20,000, getting a fold from Wilson and a call from Bonomo.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {8-Clubs} on the turn. Tilston led out for 22,000 and Bonomo stuck around to see the {k-Diamonds} on the river. Tilston burned through one of his time extensions before sliding in a bet of 65,000. Bonomo briefly thought about his decision and then elected to fold.

Negreanu First to Leave His Seat

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Justin Bonomo is coming off an impressive first month to 2018, and February has started off well for him as well. Bonomo opened to 2,500 from under the gun and Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 9,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Bonomo who called to see a flop of {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Bonomo check-called a bet of 5,000 from Negreanu and the {9-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked to the {6-Spades} on the river. Bonomo slid forward his stack of chips, putting Negreanu at risk for his remaining 75,000. The Canadian leaned back in his chair and then sat with his hand on his face. As his clock was about to run out, Negreanu tossed in chips to call. Bonomo tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Negreanu tabled his {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} as he headed to the registration desk for an early re-entry.
