Chidwick Seizes the Opportunity

Level 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The flop fell {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Alex Turyansky checked from the big blind. Stephen Chidwick tossed in a 5,000 bet on the button and Turyansky check-raised to 17,000. Chidwick called and the {j-Clubs} peeled off on the turn.

Turyansky checked and Chidwick checked behind. The {q-Diamonds} on the river put four cards to a straight on the board. Turyansky checked again and Chidwick took the opportunity to bet 25,000. Turyansky looked distressed and eventually tossed his cards to the middle of the table.

Tilston Way Out Front

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Keith Tilston
Keith Tilston

The action folded around to Keith Tilston in the small blind who just limped in. Rainer Kempe raised to 7,000 in the big blind and Tilston re-raised to 30,000. Kempe called and the flop came {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Tilston checked-called a bet from Kempe and the {7-Hearts} rolled off on the turn. Tilston checked again and Kempe announced all in for around 80,000. Tilston instantly called and tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for top two pair. Kempe showed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and was left drawing to three remaining kings in the deck. The {10-Spades} was not the card Kempe was looking for and he was eliminated for the first time today.

Soverel Doubles Through Pollak

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sam Soverel raised to 4,500 from under the gun and Benjamin Pollak three-bet to 13,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Soverel shipped all in for 58,500. Pollak quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Sam Soverel: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Benjamin Pollak: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Soverel picked up a flush draw to go with his already dominating hand. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and the river landed the {k-Diamonds}, securing the win for Soverel.

Negreanu Pays off Kempe

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With around 15,000 in the middle and the board reading {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, the action was on Rainer Kempe who bet 6,500 on the button. Daniel Negreanu check-raised to 21,000 and Kempe called.

The river brought the {5-Diamonds} and Negreanu checked again. Kempe fired 32,000 and Negreanu was stumped. After using a time extension, Negreanu ended up making the call, only to see Kempe turn over {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} which was good enough to win the pot.

Haxton Has Everything

Level 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ryan Riess opened to 4,000 from under the gun and Isaac Haxton three-bet to 12,500 on the button. The blinds folded and Riess made the call as the dealer spread the flop of {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Both players checked to the {9-Spades} on the turn and the {a-Diamonds} on the river. That is when all of the action unfolded. Riess led out for a bet of 32,000 with a full house on the board. Haxton's time was about to run out and he pushed all in for around 116,000. Riess scratched his head and then made the call. Haxton tabled {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for quad nines and Riess flashed the {a-Spades} before it hit the muck. When the chips were counted, Haxton barely had Riess covered and the former WSOP Champion left his seat.
