Hand-for-Hand Has Commenced

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

126 players remain, and thus play are hand-for-hand at the Casino de Marrakech. Just one more player will have to leave empty-handed before the remaining players are guaranteed a pay day of 11,000 MAD (€1,100)

'Ignapoker' Bubbles the 2017 Winamax SISMIX Main Event

The intensity rose to a whole new level as the remaining 126 started the hand-for-hand play, and it took three instances of all-in and a call before the players in the Casino de Marrakech tournament area could go on break knowing, they had just earned themselves at least a min-cash of 11,000 MAD (€1,000).

First off it was Japanese Kazuma Fujiyama at risk, at he shoved over a raise from Javier Garcirreynaldos Barral in the cutoff. Barral made the call with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Fujiyama needed help with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, and a relieved Fujiyama fell back in his seat as he was awarded the pot.

The next hand Karim Benamrouche was all-in for his last 225,000 on a {5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{A-Spades} board. Spanish player 'Fernando' had made the call with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} but needed to improve to beat Benamrouche's {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and thus break the bubble. The river was a blank, and hand-for-hand continued.

It was instead a Spanish player with the pseudonym 'Ignapoker' that ultimately fell short of the money. Mounim Kaddouri raised to 24,000 from the button and Ignapoker had made the call out of the big blind. The Spaniard had then check-called 26,000 on the {J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, before the {4-Hearts} turn was checked through. The {8-Clubs} river saw Ignapoker check a third time before Kaddouri moved all-in. Ultimately Ignapoker made the call with {J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, but they were no good against the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} of Kaddouri, good for a rivered set.

It's not all bad for our Spanish bubble boy, though. Because the unlucky 126th place finisher was wearing a Winamax patch, he is awarded a seat in next year's edition of the Winamax SISMIX valued at 6,000 MAD. Not a bad consolation place.

Gredy Busts as Last Man Before the Payjump

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In an exciting three-way all-in situation both Nicolas Gredy with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Romain Blanchard with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} was at risk of busting as the last player to min-cash, but Jean-Michel Vella with the biggest stack by just 19,000 chips was behind with {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

The flop brought both an {A-} and a {K-}, and with not a single Jack in sight, Blanchard scored almost a triple-up while Vella was left with less than 1,5 big blind. Vella did triple up the very next hand, as his {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} made the nutstraight, but the Frenchman is not out of the woods yet.

Frenchman Romain Meyer seems to have profited the most from the initial flurry of bust-outs. He currently sits on a massive 2,350,000 stack, which is definitely good for the chip lead at this point in time.

Team Winamax is at this point in time represented by four pros, as Gaelle Baumann, Bruno Lopes, Alexandre Luneau and Davidi Kitai is still in contention for the title. 86 players remain.

Stand Up, Hit Straight, Sit Down

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

You gotta have faith, sang the late George Michael, and though Olivier Piechaczyk seemingly didn't when he got out of his chair and packed his belongings, he was still awarded a little miracle as he doubled up through Alain Marty.

Piechaczyk shoved all-in preflop with {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Marty wasted no time calling with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The {4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} was not much of anything for the player at risk, but with a {8-Diamonds} on the turn and a {6-Spades} on the river, Piechaczyk rivered the straight, and the Frenchman was quick to get back in his seat and rake in the pot.
