Pion Becomes First Day 1c Casualty

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

There was 35,800 in the middle on the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} board with Philippe Monreal and Lucas Pion heads-up. Both players started the hand with 50,000 and Monreal shipped in his last 32,000 from the big blind. Pion made the quick call from the cutoff.

Pion immediately flipped over his {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} thinking he had the winner, however Monreal held the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a rivered set to get an early double.

"Incroyable," said Pion as he left the room.
