Delgado's Trip Jacks Get the Job Done
Level 2
: Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Alberto Delgado fired 20,000 on the river into a pot of more than 33,000 on a board of 9♠8♣J♦A♠5♠.
Seated on the button in a pot that had been three-bet preflop, Delgado applied maximum pressure to the big blind, who was left weighing up the decision for almost his tournament life.
The big blind ultimately chose to call, but it proved costly. Delgado tabled J♠J♣ for trip jacks, rendering his opponent's top pair with A♣10♣ second best and dragging a sizable pot.
