Vaillancourt Climbs

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Noah Vaillancourt opened to 3,500 from middle position and found a call from the player in the big blind. The players were heads up to the {Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and action checked back to Vaillancourt. He continued out for 4,500 and his opponent flung forward a call.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and it was checked to Vaillancourt for a second time. Vaillancourt thought for about 30 seconds before dropping forward a bet of an unknown amount. His opponent his cards go and Vaillancourt took down a pot that brought his stack to about 115,000.

Bazeley Lets One Go

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

An older gentleman in Seat 5 got things started off with a raise to 2,500. The player in Seat 6 made the call and Jacob Bazeley raised it to 9,000 from the button. It was folded back to the original two players who both called.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and the older gentleman couldn't make out what the cards were and strained his head forward to try and get a view. He grabbed a stack of orange T5,000 chips and then checked. The player in Seat 6 checked as well and Bazeley bet 12,000. The older gentleman sprung into action making a raise to 30,500 which was good enough to take down the pot. Bazeley ended the hand with 62,000 in chips.

David Tuthill, who had been sitting next to Bazeley, was eliminated earlier in unknown action.

Overkill For Massey

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We get to the table with the flop showing {9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Aaron Massey making a bet of 4,600. His short-stacked opponent moved all in for less than 20,000 and Massey immediately called and turned over {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. His opponent shook his head as he was well behind with his {3-}{3-}. The turn was the {J-Hearts} to seal the deal for Massey and just for good measure the dealer put out the {J-Spades} on the river to give Massey quads.

Massey, the 2012 champion of this event, moved above the six figure threshold with that pot and now has 108,000.

Baker Doesn't Think Long

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

David "ODB" Baker opened the action with a minimum raise from early position and it was folded to the player in the big blind who made the call. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and it was checked to Baker who bet 3,000. His opponent made the call and would lead out for 17,000 (leaving himself less than 10,000 behind) on the {9-Hearts} turn. Baker wasted no time in reraising and was called by his opponent. Baker turned over {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for queens and nines and his opponent tabled {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for nines and deuces. The river was the {Q-Hearts} to give Baker a full house and the pot.

Baker, with over three million in reported live tournament earnings, moved his stack to 80,000 after that hand.

Steven Limp Folds

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Brandon Steven, in the throes of a massage, limped in and a short-stacked woman in Seat One moved all in for 13,500. It was folded back to Steven who didn't realize at first that his opponent had moved all in. "Oh," he said, once he figured it out, and quickly tossed his cards into the muck.

The Big One for One Drop participant sits with approximately 60,000 in chips after that minimal loss.
