White Rivers a One-Outer to Eliminate Lauridsen

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Mykel Comroe opened to 60,000 from the hijack and was called by Phil Osborne in the cutoff and Greg White on the button. Travis Lauridsen shipped all in for 87,000 and each player called.

The remaining three players checked it down to the river with the board reading {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and White finally tossed in a bet of 175,000. Comroe and Osborne folded and White turned over {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a set of jacks. Lauridsen tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} meaning White hit the only jack in the deck to win the pot.

Cervantes Eliminated

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Salvador Cervantes
Salvador Cervantes

Salvador Cervantes was left with crumbs after he checked and called a bet of 275,000 from Matthew Bray, in middle position on a board of {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Spades}. Bray showed {k-Spades}{7-Spades} and Cervantes had just 85,000 left. He lost that in short order.

Pengelly Avoids Disaster

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Will Pengelly opened to 45,000 from middle position and was called by Matthew Bray in the hijack and Mark Fisher on the button. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Pengelly led out with a bet of 65,000. Bray called while Fisher let his hand go.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and Pengelly fired another 150,000. Bray gave it some thought but eventually decided to give Pengelly the pot.

"I folded pocket fours," Fisher piped up about his fold on the flop.

Hirons Sinking

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Johnny Deas opened early for 40,000 and Larry Hirons called on the button. The flop came {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Deas checked. Hirons bet 100,000. Deas called. On the {q-Clubs} turn, Deas checked and Hirons bet 75,000. Deas made it 150,000 and Hirons called. On the {6-Clubs} river, Deas slid in 200,000 and Hirons went into the tank.

Deas, by this time making a show it and packing behind his seat, told Hirons to lay it down and he'd show.

Hirons did fold and Deas showed {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for the flopped nuts.

Banghart Can't Shake Brian Green

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mike Rogers raised it up to 40,000 from middle position and Jeff Banghart three-bet to 125,000 in the cutoff. Brian Green quickly called from the small blind and Rogers tagged along as well. The flop came {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and the action checked to Banghart who continued for another 125,000. Green called and Rogers let his hand go.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and Green checked again. Banghart decided to slow down and checked back. The river was the {8-Spades} and both players checked again. Green flipped over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Banghart nodded his head in approval as his cards hit the muck.

Simpson Caught Bluffing

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Salvador Cervantes defended big blind against a Michael Simpson open and both checked the {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. The {3-Clubs} paired the board and Cervantes bet 70,000, with Simpson calling. On the {8-Diamonds} river, Cervantes checked and Simpson splashed 100,000 in. Cervantes thought only briefly before calling.

"You're good," Simpson said, flashing a hand we didn't see.

Cervantes showed {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and took it down with fives up.

Copp Gets the Best of Pengelly Again

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

On a board reading {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}, Kramer Copp checked from the big blind. Will Pengelly tossed in a bet of 45,000 into a pot of roughly 80,000. Copp check-raised to 160,000 and Pengelly snap-called.

The river brought the {5-Spades} and Copp shipped all in for 179,000. Pengelly mulled it over for a few moments but eventually decided to release his hand.

"You got one through on me," Pengelly said only to get a nod from Copp.

Eskandar Finally Dusted

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Greg White opened for 60,000 under the gun and got action from Ekrem Bozkurt in the hijack and big blind Patrick Eskandar. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and White shoved all in for 287,000. Bozkurt went deep into the tank and folded when the clock was called after a couple of minutes. Eskandar smiled.

"If you have tens or jacks, I have two overs," he said. "Show me jacks."

He slid his 35,000 in but his {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} was all but dead against {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and the river the {6-Spades}, so Eskandar hit the rail in 25th.
