Burns Finds a Double

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

David Burns went all in from the hijack for his last 27,000 and found a call from the big blind.

David Burns: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Burns was in great shape to earn a double as long as his kings could hold versus the big blind's ace-queen. The board ran out safe, coming {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and the dealer confirmed his stack for the double to be paid.

Mordue Breaks 300k

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player limped in from under the gun, as did Darryl Sample in middle position. The small blind came along as well, and James Mordue checked his option in the big blind.

Action checked to Sample on a {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, and he bet 4,000. Only Mordue called.

Both players checked the {6-Spades} turn, and Mordue bet 15,000 once the {8-Diamonds} fell on the river. Sample thought for a few moments, then folded.

Merritt Forces Fold From Brown

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

There was around 30,000 in the pot after action on a flop of {j-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Hearts} between Rickie Merritt in the big blind and Stephen Brown, who was on the button. The turn came {10-Clubs} and both players checked.

Merritt fired 12,000 on the river {q-Hearts} and Brown thought for a bit, looking back at his remaining chips before finding a fold.

Haggard's Bluff Fails

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The big blind bet 13,000 into 25,000 on a {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} board, and Jason Haggard called from under the gun. Matt Dalka thought for a moment on the button, then flung in a call as well.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river, and the big blind checked. Haggard bet 22,000, and Dalka quickly folded. The big blind thought for a few moments, then called for around half of his remaining stack. Haggard shook his head and turned over {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}, and he correctly surmised his ace-high was no good, as the big blind showed {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for jacks-up and the winner.

Wheeler Locks it Up One Card Early

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ray Henson raised to 6,000 from middle position, and the cutoff three-bet shoved for 12,000. Nate Wheeler called in the big blind, and Henson tossed in the extra 6,000 as well.

Wheeler shoved for 61,000 after the {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop fell, and Henson quickly folded.

Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Nate Wheeler: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Wheeler ended matters one card early when the {j-Diamonds} hit the turn, and his opponent was already out of his seat before the {7-Diamonds} river could hit the felt.

Leon Waits for It

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

There was 38,000 in the pot in a blind-on-blind battle between the small blind and David Leon, who was in the big blind. The board read {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Leon, who went all in for his remaining chips.

The small blind asked for a count and the dealer counted out 56,500. He thought for another minute before apologizing to the table for taking so long.

Tablemate Brandon Guzman told him to take his time, understanding the magnitude of the decision. After another 15 seconds, the small blind folded and Leon was awarded the pot.

As he raked it in, he talked with the small blind about some generalities of the hand, with neither revealing much information as the two agreed it was a "weird hand."
