Williams Busts a Shorty After a Sweaty Board

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Shomari Williams
Shomari Williams

Shomari Williams jammed from the small blind to put the big blind at risk for his last 6,000, and the big blind called it off.

Opponent: {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Shomari Williams: {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Williams paired up on the {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop, but was left shaking his head, as his opponent had picked up a flush draw. The {4-Spades} turn added more outs to Williams' opponent, as now any six or four would do the trick. The {a-Clubs} river harmlessly plinked off on the river, and Williams took out his opponent.

Keeline's Aces Get Cracked, Then Uncracked

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

"I just got soooo lucky!" Ben Keeline told us during our latest round on the felt, and he shared the details of the hand in which he got lucky with us.

Keeline limped under the gun, and the player next to act limped as well. The cutoff raised to 2,500, and Keeline limp-raised to 8,000. Only the cutoff called.

Keeline bet 15,000 on the {q-}{9-}{3-} flop, and his opponent called.

The {q-} turn was checked by Keeline, and his opponent jammed. Keeline called off his remaining 16,500 and was in rough shape.

Ben Keeline: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Keeline was able to find lightning in a bottle when the {a-Diamonds} fell on the river, giving him aces-full and an unlikely double.

Moreno Pushes Out Ingles

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player limped in from under the gun and action folded around to Michael Moreno, who completed his small blind. Jared Ingles checked his option and the three went to a flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Moreno was first to act and checked. Ingles then bet 1,500. The under-the-gun player called and Moreno put in a check-raise to 6,000. Ingles called and the third player in the hand folded.

The turn came {3-Hearts} and Moreno fired another 8,000 forward. Ingles called. The river fell {q-Clubs} and Moreno announced he was all in, effectively putting Ingles to a decision for his last 21,000. Ingles quickly folded and Moreno took down the pot.

"This Is the Time of the Tournament..."

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Lyons was in middle position and shoved all in for 28,800. Action folded around to the big blind, who checked his cards and put in a stack of chips to signify a call.

Robert Lyons: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The turn then fell {9-Clubs} to give Lyons a straight. However, it also gave his opponent a flush draw. The river fell {3-Diamonds} and the dealer counted out Lyons' chips to ensure he received a full double.

"This is the time of the tournament when ace-king starts losing," an opponent said as Lyons was paid.

Phahurat Makes Quads For a KO

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player raised to 2,400 from middle position, and Alex Phahurat called int he hijack. The big blind three-bet shoved for around 14,000, and after the middle position player folded, Phahurat made the call after a few moments in the tank.

Opponent: {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Alex Phahurat: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Phahurat found a pair on the {3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop, and improved further to unbeatable trips on the {q-Hearts} turn. To add insult to injury, the case queen fell with the {q-Spades} river, giving Phahurat quads and the knockout.
