Dinner Time

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A total of six levels have been completed here on Day 1b and that means it is time for dinner. The players can enjoy a free buffet during the break provided by partypoker and Playground.

'Oyster King' Blasts the Turn

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The player in the hijack raised it up to 2,400 and got call from Armand 'Oyster King' King in the cutoff and the player in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} and both the small blind and the hijack checked. King wasted no time and fired out a bet of 22,500. The small blind thought about it but folded, as did the hijack.

King raked in the pot, and is in the field after a win in the $1,100 Red Shores event for $25,000! He took the event down after two hours of heads-up play and admitted it was a tough battle but he pulled through. King has had much success at Playground and is a staple here, so look for him to make some big moves today.

Dauphinais Doubles Through Kedziora

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Gael Dauphinais moved all-in for 20,000 from the hijack and John Kedziora called from the cutoff.

Dauphinais was at risk with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was flipping against Kedziora's {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Kedziora remained in the lead with a pair of tens. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} to pair Dauphinais' queen. Kedziora called for a king but the {q-Spades} hit the river and Dauphinais doubled through.

"Nice runners" said Kedziora as he paid the bet.

Duhamel Out, MacDonald In

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The 2010 WSOP Main Event champion has recently been eliminated here on Day 1b and looks like he has chosen not to re-enter today. No sweat for the world champ though as he can register for Day 1c tomorrow, Day 1d Monday morning or even buy-in directly to Day 2.

Occupying an empty seat at Duhamel's former table is Alyssa MacDonald. MacDonald is a 2017 World Cup of Cards title holder after taking down Event #4: $330 6-Max Bounty for $7,500 during the first week of the festival.

Helou Gets Some Back

Level 6 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

John Helou has gone to an all-in showdown twice in the last 30 minutes or so with pocket tens. The first time he doubled up Samuel Tsehai after flopping a set and getting rivered by a flush.

This time, John Helou shoved on the turn of a {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} board for 35,900 and was called by an opponent's {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Helou's boat was good after the river bricked out and scooped a much needed double up.
