The Finale of the Quantum No-Limit Hold Em Starts at 7 p.m.

Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault
Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault

Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault leads the final 22 players into Day 3 of the Quantum No-Limit tournament. He joins 21 other players who are each guaranteed at least $1,750. First prize is $50,000 and will be the second largest first place prize awarded during the World Cup of Cards.

This is the wrap-up of a ten starting flight tournament that kicked off the World Cup of Cards. The $200,000 Guarantee tournament offered players a chance to cash in all ten starting flights and a few of them have cashed multiple times.

The blinds are starting at 20,000/40,000 with a 5,000 ante and the average chip stack is 848,400.

Off With a Bang

The cards are in the air for Day 3 of the Quantum and on the first hand, a player at each table was all in and at risk.

  • Ming-Jinq Wong was the first to shove, he got all in for 130,000 with {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and David Cadoche called. Cadoche had {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and when the board ran out {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} Wong was eliminated.
  • Senthuran Vijayaratnam shoved all in for 390,000 and Armand King reshoved with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. Vijayaratnam had {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Vijayaratnam was also eliminated.
  • Chris Arvanitis was the only all in to win, he doubled through chip leader Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} against the {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} of Carpentier-Perrault. He flopped trips and turned a full house on the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades} board and is now over 800,000.

Douglas James Eliminated by Reid Fortin, Fortin Takes Big Lead Thanks to a Flush Draw

Douglas James
Douglas James

Douglas James had two eliminations to his name, but couldn't dodge a flush draw with another big hand. James had aces and got all in on the flop against Reid Fortin. Fortin has {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and turned a flush which sent James quickly out of his chair. He took one step toward the rail, then looked back for a moment. It seemed he could barely believe what happened but he quietly accepted his fate and took 17th place.

Fortin is now the chip leader by more than 1-million.

Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault Retakes Chip Lead and Then Some

Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault
Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault

Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault was the benefactor of short stacks shoving into his big hands. First, Franco A shoved and Carpentier-Perrault called with ace-queen. He was head of Franco A and eliminated him.

Shortly after, Chris Arvanitis shoved from the button with ace-four and Carpentier-Perrault had kings in the big blind. He called, he won, he eliminated another player and stacked 4,000,000.

At the other table Walter Asatoorian shoved king-jack and ran into the pocket aces of Jiachen Gong. He couldn't catch up and was eliminated in 13th place.
