WPT National Montreal

Day 1e Completed

Kevin Rivest Spends Most of Day 1e Leading the Pack

Kevin Rivest
Kevin Rivest

Kevin Rivest was the chip leader for the majority of Day 1e. He finished the day with 325,000 after the last six eliminations flew to the rail almost faster than the tournament board could update the remaining players.

Rivest will take his stack into Day 2 on Wednesday. There are two more flights of WPT National Montreal tomorrow. The first is at 10 a.m. and the second is a turbo flight at 7 p.m.

So far, 25 players have booked their seats to Day 2. Benoit Beaulac is the largest stack so far with 648,000. He bagged that stack in the opening flight. So far, only Rodney Ramalho has cashed twice in this tournament, unfortunately he also failed to make Day 2 both times he cashed.

PokerNews will be here throughout the festival, bringing you all the news, updates, and photos. Follow @PokerNews on Twitter for live updates, Periscope broadcasts, and more. Also, follow PokerNews on Facebook and Instagram.

Thomas Lefort Eliminated in 5th Place ($1,250)

Jason Mandanici-Turcot moved all-in preflop and Thomas Lefort called all-in putting himself at risk.

Lefort: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Mandanici-Turcot: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The final board of the night would be {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs} as Mandanici-Turcot paired his nine on the flop taking them down to the final four.

Daniel Hamelin Eliminated in 6th Place ($1,250)

Richard Paradis put Daniel Hamelin at risk preflop with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Hamelin has {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and was slightly ahead.

Unfortunately Paradis would pair his king on the {6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board busting Hamelin.

Michael Noor Eliminated in 7th Place ($1,000)

Kevin Rivest opened to 15,000, Thomas Lefort moved all-in, and Michael Noor called all-in for less. Rivest folded.

Lefort: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Noor: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}

A classic race was underway with Noor needing to fade the board to stay alive. The dealer patted the table delivering a {6-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs} board. Lefort made two pair, busting Noor.

Martin Boucher Eliminated in 8th Place ($1,000)

With about 40,000 in the pot already and a board reading {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}, Martin Boucher moved all-in and was snap-called by Richard Paradis.

Paradis: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Boucher: {j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Paradis flopped huge with a set and it held through the {2-Spades}{7-Diamonds} turn and river.

Tomislav Pavkovic Eliminated in 9th Place ($750)

Kevin Rivest opened to 15,000 and Tomislav Pavkovic moved all-in. Rivest called.

Rivest: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Pavkovic: {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Rivest would claim the pot fading the {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board

James Mcintosh Eliminated in 10th Place ($750)

Richard Paradis opened to 15,000 and James McIntosh called all-in for 11,500.
