Vieira Flops a Set, Holz Turns a Bigger Set

Level 18 : Blinds 50,000/125,000, 125,000 ante

Action folded to Joao Vieira in the hijack, and he raised all in for 400,000. It then folded to Fedor Holz on the button, who three-bet all in for 1,500,000. Once the blinds folded, it was the two players heads up with Vieira at risk.

Joao Vieira: 33 All in
Fedor Holz: 99

Holz had the dominate position with the bigger pocket pair, but that didn't last long on the 823 flop to give Vieira a set. However, the 9 on the turn flipped the roles again, as Holz made a bigger set. The 4 on the river brought no help for Vieira, as he was eliminated.

Mateos Thrilled to Chop Against Talvitie's Aces

Level 17 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Elias Talvitie raised to 200,000 from early position. It then folded to Adrian Mateos on the button who three-bet to 600,000. Once the blinds folded, Talvitie decided to four-bet all in for his stack of 3,950,000. Mateos, who had the exact same amount of chips made the call.

Elias Talvitie: AA All in
Adrian Mateos: AQ

Mateos made the call to setup a a ginormous pot between himself and Talvitie, and once the cards were on their back, saw he would need lots of help to stay in the tournament. The 2QK flop gave Mateos outs to crack the aces, and the J on the turn gave him extra chop outs. Mateos was very pleased to see those chop outs came in as the 10 hit the river, giving Mateos new life as both players made a Broadway straight.

Kornuth's Slow Play Comes Back to Bite Him

Level 17 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Fedor Holz raised to 200,000 from under the gun, and Chance Kornuth called in the hijack with AA. It then folded to Esti Wang in the big blind who also made the call with K6.

All three players checked the 8710 flop, which brought the 5 on the turn. Wang bet out 350,000, which got Holz to fold, and Kornuth made the call.

The river was the 9 and Wang bet out 300,000 with his straight. Kornuth then chose to raise to 1,200,000 with his pocket aces, and Wang called. Kornuth had to toss his aces in the muck as Wang successfully cracked aces to take the pot.

Feldman Stays in the Race

Level 17 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Action folded to Taylor Von Kriegenbergh who raised to 200,000 from the hijack, before Ryan Feldman three-bet all in for 825,000 in the cutoff. It folded back to Von Kriegenbergh who made the call to put Feldman at risk.

Ryan Feldman: AK All in
Taylor Von Kriegenbergh: 99

It was a flip for Feldman's tournament life, but he would need to improve to stay in the tournament. The 5Q8 didn't help Feldman's cause, as Von Kriegenbergh picked up a flush draw to take away two of Feldman's outs. But the K on the turn did, as Feldman now took the lead, needing to fade a nine or spade to stay in the tournament. The 3 on the river was safe for Feldman, to give him the double up.

Chance Kornuth raised to 200,000 from middle positon, and when it folded to Kannapong Thanarattrakul on the button, he three-bet all in for his stack of 1,600,000. It folded back to Kornuth who made the call to put Thanarattrakul at risk.

Kannapong Thanarattrakul: Q10 All in
Chance Kornuth: AK

It was a fair fight, but Thanarattrakul would need to improve past the ace-king of Kornuth to stay in the tournament. But once the board ran out 104A8A Kornuth improved to trip aces to take the pot and eliminate Thanarattrakul.

Sosia Jiang
Sosia Jiang

Action folded to the small blind Konstantin Maslak, who limped in. Then Sosia Jiang in the big blind raised to 325,000, before Maslak three-bet all in for his stack of 2,700,000, which Jiang called.

Konstantin Maslak: 55 All in
Sosia Jiang: 66

Maslak found himself out piped by the bigger pocket pair of Jiang, and once the board ran out 8K39Q Jiang's pocket sixes were still best, eliminating Maslak.

With that pot, Jiang now sits atop of the leaderboard.
