Hopkins Makes a Straight on the River to All but Bust Tomas

James Hopkins was all in for 610,000, and Joao Tomas put him at risk, only covering him by 5,000.

Hopkins ran into the kings of Tomas, but when the board ran out 68A107 Hopkins made a straight on the river, to crack Tomas kings and leave him with crumbs.

Tomas was eliminated shortly after.

Pedro Padilha opened to 65,000 from early position. Juan Pardo and Talal Shakerchi called from the blinds.

Pardo led out for 60,000 on the J96 flop, and only Padilha called. The latter then called a bet of 110,000 on the 7 turn. The 6 river paired the board and Pardo, who had 495,000 behind, checked. Padilha put Pardo to the test for his tournament life, and the Spaniard agonized over his options, using several time banks before folding.

Alex Foxen opened to 65,000 from the hijack, and Nacho Barbero thee-bet all in on the button for 215,000. It folded back to Foxen who made the call.

It was a flip, but Foxen took a commanding lead on the AA3 board. Barbero was then drawing dead on the K turn and was sent to the exits after the 10 on the river, as Foxen took the pot with his full house, aces full of kings.
