Chidwick and Schulman Go Off to the Races

Level 14 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Nick Schulman raised to 40,000 from early position before Rayan Chamas three-bet to 130,000 on his left. It then folded to Stephen Chidwick in the cutoff, and he four-bet all in for 285,000. Once it got back to Schulman, he moved all in as well, getting Chamas to fold, leaving the players heads-up.

Stephen Chidwick: AK All in
Nick Schulman: QQ

It was a classic race, and when the board ran out A4356, it was Chidwick coming out on top after finding an ace to secure the double-up.

Brutal Runout for Soverel

Level 14 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Emilien Pitavy raised to 40,000 from the hijack, before Sam Soverel in the cutoff three-bet all in for 235,000. It folded back to Pitavy, who made the call to put Soverel at risk.

Sam Soverel: KQ All in
Emilien Pitavy: KQ

A chop seemed likely, with the odds slightly favoring Soverel to scoop with the suited king-queen. However, the 4Q6 flop gave both players a backdoor flush draw. The freeroll was reversed for Soverel after the 2 on the turn gave Pitavy the flush draw. Then the 4 hit on the river, bringing home the flush for Pitavy, sending Soverel to the rail in brutal fashion.

Chamas continued for 40,000 on the JJ9 flop, and Jeschka called. Pham made it 110,000 and Chamas was the only caller.

Pham checked the 2 turn, and folded to a bet of 120,000.

Ponakovs Has a Better Ace

Level 14 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Corey Kempson opened to 40,000 from the hijack. Aleksejs Ponakovs and Jon Vallinas called from the cutoff and big blind.

The action checked to Ponakovs on the 752 flop, and he bet 45,000. Vallinas went deep into the tank, using three time banks. Just when he was about to use a fourth, he snapped out of his trance with a shake of his head and folded. Kempson called.

The 8 turn and 3 river checked through to showdown.

Kempson tabled A10 but was beaten by Ponakovs' AQ.
