Phil Hellmuth Loses a Pot -- And His Temper

Phil Hellmuth raised under the gun to 20,000, Shawn Buchanan reraised to more than 50,000 from the cutoff, and Hellmuth called. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, Hellmuth quickly checked, Buchanan bet 120,000, and Hellmuth called. The turn card was the {7-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The river card was the {9-Clubs}, and they checked again.

Hellmuth announces that he has a pair of sixes, but Buchanan shows K-7 for a pair of sevens. Hellmuth slammed down his A-6, and the fireworks began.

Hellmuth started ranting, really berating Buchanan for the play, constantly repeating that he basically bluffed 200,000 against one of the best players in the world. He says several other things, like "You were drawing dead," while bemused bystanders and fellow players say things like, "Who's stacking the chips, Phil?"

We'll have to wait and see whether or not Hellmuth is on tilt, but luckily for him, he has plenty of chips to weather this storm.

Welcome Back to the Show that Always Whines

Phil Hellmuth is at it again, berating players who the Great God of Poker believes have ventured into his domain.

And I quote: "How bad do you have to be to bluff at the Best Player in the World?" You can't miss the quote since the raging ego repeats it over and over.

When will Phil ever learn, when will he ever learn?

Hellmuth Bullies Paul Lee Again

On a flop of {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Paul Lee was raised all in by Phil Hellmuth.

"You can't have the nuts all the time, Phil," Lee said. "You got pocket Kings again?"

Lee eventually mucked while Hellmuth showed {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

"That's Phil Hellmuth poker!" he shouted. "That was such a good laydown that I decided to show you my hand."

Hellmuth has close to 1.3M now.

Bill Ferrand Eliminates Erica Schoenberg

Bill Ferrand raises to 18,000 from middle position, Erica Schoenberg -- who has been shortstacked for a while now -- moves all in for 41,000 from the button, and Ferrand calls. Schoenberg shows {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}, but she's dominated by Ferrand's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

The board comes {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}, teasing Schoenberg with a flush draw. Erica Schoenberg, one of the breakout stars from this event last year, is eliminated.
