Minus a Hundo

The scoreboard shows 316 players remaining, meaning we have lost a full 100 runners. Four and a half levels into the day, just about 3/4 of the field still has chips to work with.

Borg Assimiliates More Chips

Tore Lagerborg's reputation as a crazy mad-cap Norwegian nutcase, is working rather well for him.

He just fired bets of 5,000 and 8,000 on the turn and river of a {5-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {7-Hearts} board, getting called both times by his foe. The latter mucked though when he was shown {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}.

Lagerborg is up to 39,000 as a result.

Fouger-gone...

Thomas Fougeron is out after reraising all-in on a {2-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} board with {8-Spades} {6-Spades} but got called by {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. The Frenchman received no help on the {7-Clubs} turn or indeed the {2-Spades} river.

Kings No Good Versus Lacay

Ludovic Lacay
Ludovic Lacay
A player in early position opened the pot with a raise, and Ludovic Lacay and two others matched the bet to see a flop.

The dealer spread {J-Spades} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds}, and the raiser continued out with another bet. That drew a raise from Lacay and the other two dabblers ducked out of the pot. The initial raiser three-bet it up to 9,800, and Lacay moved all in with a covering bet. His opponent called all in for a total of 13,000, turning over {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}. It was no good; Lacay showed up {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} for top set, having flopped his money card.

The turn and river blanked off with the {4-Spades} and the {7-Diamonds} respectively, and that nice pot moves Lacay up close to 50,000 just as the break hits.

Lieu-sing Out

Liz Lieu, Chilipoker's main hope at the WPT here, just took a slight knock, calling a 1,200 bet on the turn of a {J-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {5-Spades} board before both checked the {8-Diamonds} river. Lieu showed {5-Clubs} {4-Clubs} but lost to her opponent's {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}.

Lieu is left with 23,000.

Big Pot Hopes Dashed...

Chips went flying in on a {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {2-Hearts} board between Andrew Feldman and the button it what looked like it would a kicker battle. Feldman turned over {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} but his opponent turned over {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} but after a {5-Spades} turn and {9-Spades} river the pot was simply split up.

Fitoussi Falls into a Flush

Bruno Fitoussi
Bruno Fitoussi
We joined a hand in progress as the dealer placed the river card down on a board reading {4-Clubs} {8-Spades} {4-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. With about 17,000 in the pot, the player in the small blind checked, and action was on Bruno Fitoussi. He carefully stacked out a bet of 13,000 and slid it forward, sending his opponent deep into the tank. After several minutes, he made the call.

Fitoussi showed {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, and his opponent sank in his chair as he returned his cards to the dealer face-down. Fitoussi rakes in that big pot, moving his way up to 51,500.
