Feldman's Thinking Time Cut Short

Andrew Feldman
Andrew Feldman
Tony G raised to 1,200 from UTG and Andrew Feldman made it 4,000 next to him. It was passed to the big blind who reraised all-in for an additional 14,700. Tony G mucked immediately and Feldman began to agonise about a call that would cost maybe half his stack.

After just a couple of minutes, another player called the clock, Feldman turned to Tony G and said in disbelief, "They're calling the clock already?"

With about 30 seconds left on the clock, Feldman sighed and threw in 15,000 for the call. He turned over {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} and his opponent showed {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} with the board coming a choppy {Q-Hearts} {5-Spades} {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}.

Showing the Magician

In a battle of the blinds, Antonio Esfandiari and the man to his left had built a pot close to 3,000 chips before the dealer ran a flop of {7-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}. Esfandiari fired out with a bet of 1,600, and the big blind slowly made the call.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} to pair the board. With a sigh, Esfandiari put another 3,200 in the pot before his opponent moved all in for 23,200. Esfandiari shrugged and folded, and the big blind flung his {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} face-up across the table.

Esfandiari has a few less chips and a bit more information to work with; he's back to 22,000.

Welcome to Valuetown, Mr. Lacay

Ludovic Lacay
Ludovic Lacay
A player in the cutoff seat opened the pot with a big raise to 2,400. Ludovic Lacay splashed in the call from the small blind, and it was heads up the rest of the way.

The dealer ran a flop of {3-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The turn came the {2-Diamonds}, and Lacay passed again. His opponent raised his eyebrows and stuck in a bet of 5,000 in the form of a single pink chip. Lacay flicked the call off his stack and into the pot, and the river brought the {K-Spades}. After another check from Lacay, the aggressor stuck out a slightly-more-purple-than-pink chip worth 10,000.

Lacay would tank it up for a minute or two, and it was evident from his facial expressions that he was doing some mental gymnastics. Finally, and apparently reluctantly, he made the call.

His opponent showed {10-Spades} {10-Hearts}, and Lacay shook his head and mucked. After giving away most of his day's profits, that loss drops the French pro back down to about 26,000.

G-Force

It seems Arnaud Mattern is the guinea pig for Tony G's current attacks. They were three-way to the flop with the small blind involved too.

Mattern fired out 1,300 on the {Q-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} board, Tony G being the only caller, Mattern then checked the {9-Spades} turn, folding to a 3,000 bet fairly speedily.

Annette's Bluff Picked Off - Then Doubles Up

Three players saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{K-Spades}{6-Spades}. It was checked to Annette Obrestad and she bet 1,175. One opponent made the call and the {9-Hearts} fell on the turn. It was checked to Obrestad again and she bet 2,775. Her opponent called, leading to the {Q-Diamonds} river.

Once again, her opponent checked and Annette fired out 5,775. Her opponent called after a few moments and Annette immediately mucked her hand. Her opponent collected the pot, not showing his hand and Annette slipped back down to under 5,000.

A few hands later, she was all in with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} against {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Annette doubled back to about 9,000.
