Silver Flops Nuts; Bluffs

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

On the turn of a {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board, Marvin Rettenmaier led out for 3,725 and Max Silver made the call. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and Rettenmaier checked, Silver thought briefly and then bet 11,200.

It didn't take too long for the German to make the call and Silver showed {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, a flopped straight but he was now playing the board. Rettenmaier turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and won the pot.

Silver shook himself, "I couldn't help myself, I knew I should've checked behind. I found the one way to lose the pot..."

Vas Nunes' Two Pair Just Enough

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Max Silver opened to 1,200 preflop and was called by Paul Vas Nunes on the button and Riad Kawmi in the small blind.

The flop was {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Kawmi led for 1,725, Silver raised to 3,600 and Vas Nunes flat-called, as did Kawmi. The {J-Spades} turn was checked to Vas Nunes who bet 7,000. Kawmi called and Silver decided to let it go.

The river was the {5-Spades} and both players checkd, Kawmi showed a missed {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Vas Nunes took it down with {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} while Silver looked slightly relieved.

First Aid-o

Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

On the turn of a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades} board, Sergio Aido check-called a 5,500 bet from Rhys Jones to see the {A-Hearts} on the river. Aido checked once more and Jones moved all in, in effect setting the Spaniard all in for the latter's final 12,500. Aido tanked for several minutes and it looked as though he might fold but he eventually made the call with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, ahead of Jones' {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} which had been turned into a bluff.

Jones slipped back under his starting stack while Aido doubled up to 45,000.

Mateos' Big Cooler

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Emran Hussain opened to 1,200 preflop from early position and Adrian Mateos made it 3,200 in middle position. Sergi Reixach then shoved all in from the button for around 14,000 and it was passed back to Hussain who tanked for a couple of minutes before moving all in for about 30,000. Mateos called instantly.

Mateos: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Reixach: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Hussain: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

"I almost folded," sighed Hussain.

The board came {5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and the former WSOPE Main Event winner is now among the chip leaders.

Deadman Walking

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Simon Deadman moved all in for his final 4,975 in early position. Vance Martin flat-called before Adrian Mateos made it 16,000 next to him. Martin folded.

Deadman turned over {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} happily to flip for a triple up against Mateos' {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} but the board came {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}. Deadman was eliminated but he'll be back to try again tomorrow.
