The biggest name in today's field has already hit the rail as he was just knocked out by Dino Heco. Our colleagues were kind enough to share the details of his exit with us, and the hand went as following.
Luske raised from middle position to 900 and both blinds, Danny Wuyts and Dino Heco, made the call. The flop came down and the action was checked to Luske who bet 3,000.
Wuyts made the call and Heco opted to raise to 22,000 with 3,000 chips behind, putting Luske to the test. Luske had started the hand with 15,000 chips and he called all in after which Wuyts quickly folded.
Heco tabled for top two pair against Luske's , and the board ran out , . Luske was knocked out and Heco sits on around 48,000 chips.
We mentioned him before when he played a hand against Sabina Hiatullah, but we had not properly introduced Dinesh Alt yet.
Alt's a native of Switzerland with close to $400,000 in live tournament results, his best score being an ANZPT Sydney victory for $231,548 in 2013. German pro Dominik Nitsche finished third in that event.
Alt also finished fourth in APPT Macau and cashed five times at the 2014 WSOP.
Dutchman Patrick Renkers has been a regular on the international poker circuit for many years and he's here today as well. Renkers' biggest claim to fame came at the 2010 Master Classics of Poker when he finished sixth in the Main Event for €93,375 and in the 2011 EPT Prague event where he was chip leader for quite some time before busting in ninth place for €48,000.
The action was just folded around to Paul Berende, who raised to 500 from the button. Rolf Twijnstra called from the small blind and the flop showed .
Twijnstra checked to Berende who bet 700 and the former called. On the turn the hit and Twijnstra lead out for 1,400. The river was the and both players checked.
Twijnstra showed and Berende smiled as he shook his head and mucked his cards. King high was enough to take it down, and Berende was left with 23,000 chips.
We picked up the action on the turn when the board read , as the action was checked to Sabina Hiatullah who bet 1,600. The first player, Dinesh Alt, called and the second folded, creating heads-up action on the turn.
The turn was the and both players checked. On the river the hit and Hiatullah's opponent lead out for 3,650. The German lady went into the tank for only a few seconds before tossing in the call.
Alt was hesitant to show his cards, but ultimately he did turn over . Hiatullah smiled and showed he as she laughed and said, "You almost mucked."
Hiatullah ended up chopping the pot after making a brave call, and she sits a little below the starting stack.
One of the two Post brothers has just been knocked out in the early goings of the tournament. Freerk Post, who made a deep run in EPT Berlin in 2013 where he finished 24th, just called a raise from Emile Hijman after the two saw a flop together.
The flop brought and Hijman continued with a bet of 1,200 and Post called. On the turn the hit and Hijman bet another 2,500.
The board completed on the river with the and Hijman immediately tossed out two chips worth 5,000 each to put Post all in. Post did not hesitate and called immediately to put his tournament life at risk.
Hijman flipped open and Post tapped the table in defeat, as he hit the rail. Hijman now sits on around 45,000 chips.
We just spotted two more stars of the game with Pau Berende and Mateusz Moolhuizen. Berende has $1.7 million in career live tournament earnings including a EPT High Roller final table in Monte Carlo, a Master Classic of Poker victory in Amsterdam and a WPT runner-up finish in Vienna.
Moolhuizen burst onto the scene when he won Unibet Open Malta in 2010 for €117,000 and since then he also finished runner-up in the Troia event for €56,265. Moolhuizen has nearly half a million in live tournament earnings.
