Sorel Mizzi Eliminated in 10th Place (€14,650)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi was severely short stacked and shoved when action folded to him on the button. His 181,000 shove (9 big blinds) was called by Kees van Brugge in the small blind. Jason Wheeler in the big blind thought about it for a bit, and then announced all in over the top. Van Brugge instantly folded, claiming to fold ace-seven after seeing the cards of Mizzi and Wheeler.

Jason Wheeler: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Sorel Mizzi: {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} leaving the door open for a chop. The {5-Clubs} on the turn wasn't a good card for Mizzi, and the {K-Hearts} on the river ended his tournament.

With Mizzi's departure, the tournament is now down to its final 9 players. A redraw is in progress right now, we'll report back to you with the seating order as soon as possible. The remaining 9 players are guaranteed €20,500.

Mizzi Takes a Huge Beat for the Chip Lead

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

Jason Wheeler raised to 45,000 and Fredrik Andersson three-bet from his immediate left to 110,000. Sorel Mizzi four-bet to 228,000 from the small blind and Wheeler snap-folded. Andersson tanked for a little while before moving all in, and Mizzi asked for a count right away.

Andersson's shove totaled 864,000 and Mizzi made the call after hearing the amount.

Mizzi: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Andersson: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Mizzi was in great shape to take the lead and get the tournament down to the final nine, and the flop brought out {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Mizzi had flopped top pair, but Andersson had picked up a flush draw. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and Andersson picked up two additional outs. The river was the {J-Clubs} and that crippled Mizzi down to just a few big blinds.

The Swedish rail cheered, as Andersson is now the tournament chip leader.

Mizzi Wins a Small One

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded to Pim van Riet in the small blind and he tossed in a 25,000 chip on top of the 10,000 he already had out. He intended to call, the dealer thought the ruling would be it had to be a raise, but Mizzi corrected her and said it was a call, like Van Riet intended. It was ruled a call, and now Mizzi raised it up to 50,000. Van Riet called.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Van Riet checked. Mizzi bet another 50,000 and Van Riet called. Both players checked the {10-Spades} on the turn and the {8-Clubs} hit the river. Van Riet bet 75,000 and Mizzi tank-called. Van Riet showed {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Mizzi tabled {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and took it down.

Mizzi and Wheeler Swap Places Again

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jason Wheeler raised to 45,000 from the cutoff and Sorel Mizzi in the big blind called. Mizzi check-called the 66,000 continuation bet on {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop as well.

Both players checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn so the {Q-Diamonds} was seen on a discount. Mizzi checked and Wheeler slid forward a big bet of 200,000. Mizzi tanked long (5 minutes) and hard (pained face), but folded in the end.

"Show me a bluff one time!" Mizzi said. Wheeler didn't oblige and just mucked silently.

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Steve Warburton
Steve Warburton

It seemed as though Louis Salter had raised before the flop and Steve Warburton called from the big blind, after which we picked up the action.

The flop showed {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{J-Clubs} when Warburton checked to Salter who bet 55,000 and his opponent check-raised to 124,000.

Salter made the call and the turn was the {3-Spades}. This time Warburton bet 179,000 and Salter made the call once more.

On the river the {A-Diamonds} hit and Warburton fired out a big bet of 328,000. Salter folded right away and Warburton picked up this pot.

Andersson Hero Calls

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Fredrik Andersson opened to 42,000 under the gun and his neighbor Pim van Riet flatted from the cutoff. The flop came {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Andersson bet 62,000, Van Riet called. Both players checked the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn and the {7-Hearts} spiked the river. Andersson checked and Van Riet bet 81,000. Andersson tanked for a bit before calling with {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Van Riet showed {8-Spades}{9-Spades} and Andersson took it down.

"You Seem like an Honest Guy"

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The first hand after the break, Sorel Mizzi opened to 45,000 under the gun and Pim van Riet in the big blind made the call. Van Riet check-called a bet of 65,000 on {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and insta check-called another 103,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn.

The river came the {10-Diamonds} and Van Riet bet out 160,000. Mizzi needed some time.

"Got there on the river huh? I think I had you till the river" Mizzi said. "Yes, I got the river" Van Riet answered. "I believe you" Mizzi laughed. "I show you" Van Riet promised. "Promise?" Mizzi asked, "Promise" Van Riet said with a death serious face. "You seem like an honest guy" Mizzi said seconds before folding. Van Riet kept his word; showing the {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for a full house.
